Lets talk GEC!

A run of 98s would be a DREAM, but I thought i heard through the grapevine somewhere that they were difficult to produce and probably wouldn't be made again. Amazing pic also!
Yes, word is they will not do the 98 again, but they said that about the 3 blade 38 also. So my fingers are crossed.

Regarding the shield/no shields comments, here's an old run marrow H10. I feel like I bought this before the no shield era, but might be remembering wrong. I think it's 6 years old or so.

Still waiting for a canoe. Lol. Hard to tell what they will come up with next. All part of the fun isn't it? Maybe a bail version of the 68? Maybe one more pattern? Possibly a short run of a couple variations of something, then carry that over starting the new year with more variations? Maybe something really Christmasy cool for us to scramble around some more to try and get one. Who cares, I'm all in on whatever it is!
I would love to see a canoe. It is one of my favorite edc patterns, and good luck finding a GEC canoe from a past release!

Uhuh. Uhuh. Ya, ya. Me too. I think it's coming. Maybe next week's production schedule update. Finish out the year with a bunch of variations.

The canoes were one of the slowest patterns ever to sell out. They were around for months; I'd be surprised to see them run again very soon, if at all.

While that was true in 2012, I doubt it would be so today. However, given the similarity between the canoe and the white owl, I agree. It ain't gonna happen any time soon.

A canoe pattern would be great. I’ve never seen a #16 in person. It looks smaller than Case’s canoe, although I know the closed length is only slightly different. I really doubt they’d sit on the shelves these days. 😉

I have to be honest, I was disappointed with the action on my Pony Jack. I don’t mind the cam tangs but I enjoy a satisfying “pop” into both open and closed positions with my blades. My Pony just doesn’t have it.

But I have some good news! I received my White Owl and both blades have a satisfying “pop”. The cowhide jigged bone is also really nice in person. The single spring makes it nice and slender plus I have to admit the Northfield trim is really nice too.

My bet is the stag will be the standout version from the 3 options.

So folks, don’t give up on the old 68 just yet!!

I haven't been around much lately, getting ready for winter and all that entails, I took a little break from posting. This past week my work schedule allowed me a quick trip down to Titusville and picked up a couple nice wood handled GECs. An H73116 and a store model pony. Pony has a small pin crack in the scale but has beautiful grain structure and Joan Mae informed me it has been stabilized. The H73 is great and also has some beautiful bocote slabs.20211114_100633_copy_1000x750.jpg20211114_101001_copy_864x1152.jpg20211114_100831_copy_864x1152.jpg
