Lets talk GEC!

Cocobolo for now. Down the road maybe the white bone.

I've seen a lot of the ebony's up for sale. I love mine. She eats boxes for breakfast.
I got my Cocobolo today and it's really nice! Nice light color with lots of pretty grain. I thought the smooth white bone would be my favorite, but I think this one just edged it out. Love the swedge too. This one has the tightest pull for sure though. Still contemplating the other 2.

Answer this riddle. There is currently an online dealer on the bay that has 5...count em 5, Cocobolo NF 36's. The first batch was mailed to dealers on Wednesday of this week from GEC. I got mine today from my dealer who also received them today. There have been no drops online as of today and most limit them to one per household when they do drop. How does someone get 5 this quick unless they're a GEC Dealer, or in bed with one? There's something going on here outside the everyday flipper.

I have heard multiple times that a dealer sells there GEC inventory on EBAY. I don't remember what dealer though.

This has been going on for years, why get your underwear bunched again? Let's talk about knives.

The 74 has been my biggest surprise over the past couple of years. Picked it up to try not expecting to like it. Man I love these. Very good slicer, great geometry, easy carry, just a great all around knife.

I’m pretty sure that there are some dealers who have fleabay stores and sell all or part of their inventory there. I also believe there are others who sell theirs to long time early reserve customers. That leaves the several who drop to the rest of us. Good luck!

I guess what gets to me is this looks to be a new entrant to this play. Not a new Ebayer, but one with fresh new multiple items. I can get what I want, but it just makes it even tougher for everyone else to get one at a reasonable price.
Supposedly GEC frowns on this and should shut down any dealers they can prove are taking advantage of this practice. Enough said on this so i will digress.

Yes, I agree. The 74 is my favorite GEC single blade. It's thin, carries in the pocket comfortably, has a great shaped thin blade, and is super easy to sharpen. I have a couple in really nice popcorn stag, an ironwood, and carry a burlap micarta quite often. I really like the 47 produced at the same time, but the 74 blade is just awesome. If they do another run I will be all over them. Your stag handle looks like it's very comfortable in hand.

That’s some great character on that stag!

2020, I use it in the kitchen a lot, so it doesn't get a lot of pocket time. The burlap version gets carried more.

Thank you, it reminds me of a topographic map. I like stag that doesn't fit the standard "bark/popcorn" narrative.

The drop point #74 Mustangs are great, but I think I like the clip point Stallion just a little bit more.

The curved Barlow’s pretty great, too.

No doubt the clip point give the 74 some beautiful lines, a work of art really. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try one. I will say that the more I use drop point blades the more I like them. Be it the 74 or the 71, they are just efficient cutters.
