Lets talk GEC!

I'm excited for the 35 pattern coming back around. I was just missing the original run ebony I sold a while back. Though I do prefer 2 blades to 3, so one of the handle materials will have to really grab me.

Just got my Sudbuster and it caused me to take stock of my GEC caplifters. Getting quite the collection.

I really want to get my hands on a sudbuster... haven't seen many come across the 2nd market yet though. Were they a pretty small run?

Just received this 65. Its a little longer than I typically carry, but its the only copperhead bolstered GEC that I know of. I have a small collection of copperhead knives and it really needed a GEC. The bone is beauty. Walk, talk and pull are excellent. Blade centered. Flush spring open and closed. Not at the half stop, but who hangs around at half stop that long? Its a brief sojourn for a photo at best ;)
No gaps anywhere. Excellent transitions everywhere. All in all, an excellent example of a finally crafted pocket knife.

Except for the slightly proud blade  Just goes to show that the knife elves at GEC really are human 🧙‍♀️

I didn't even notice the proud blade when I took the pics. It's not real proud, but it's enough to catch your finger. Guess How I found this out 😬
Its sort of visible in this pic. I've since filed the kick and it now rides where it's supposed too. There's not a lot kick to file, so it might be a future problem in a heavily used, oft sharpened, knife. I doubt I'll use this one enough for it to be a problem for me.

Yes, I have an unloved blue Pemberton. I keep trying to love it but it's not happened yet.
That's a cracking green on your 38 Special - mine's in Bocote, and I am slowly learning to love that one.

The "unpopular"
I remember looking at those for a long time on dealers' sites with nobody buying them. I just liked their look and decided to get them. The pemberton is especially nice and snappy. The 38 has beautiful green.
I think those two are very under appreciated. I’ve got an Indian Paint Brush 38 (wish I’d bought the red Micarta instead) and four of the 06. Like’em a lot, you have two nice examples. 😎👍

Many thanks to all

They remind me of the current unloved"dog" the 05 keychain knife (I have one) a small, SS keychain knife that was made in large numbers and remains in stock for over a year now. I assume it was not seen as a potential investment and those interested in small keychain knives get a 58mm Victorinox or a Leatherman Squirt.
