Lets talk GEC!

Made the trek to the GEC factory today hoping to get my hands on a cattle knife and to maybe get some intel on the upcoming 35 patterns. Unfortunately they didn’t have any cattle for sale and they were pretty hush hush on what was coming up. So I left with this sudbuster instead. It was really cool seeing all the old knives on display and I was shocked at how small the place is. Definitely worth the trip if you’re close by. 84944836-FAEE-426E-AE9D-5C444EC7DC61.jpeg

If you go again can you take some photos inside and out for us.

Just thought that it would be good to see another Templar, preferably based on a long pattern. Or a toothpick. Toothpick Templar? Would be nice... Because hey, two years without Templars, that ain't right!

If I remember correctly the toothpicks / templars were really slow sellers, at the time, though maybe I am remembering the original runs

They already did a #12 Templar... probably won't do one again for a long time.

They may also be a tad gun-shy, as the Templars were sitting for a very long time in dealer inventory, even after GECs started gaining in popularity and disappearing from shelves quickly.

You are correct. I even got me a 06 Templar. And that's why I wish for more, those are something! Can't tell by the pics, you need to handle one to appreciate the beauty. Yeah, maybe a bit novelty, but a unique one for sure and definitely not a gas station knife as some say. Just wish it was of a 15 size or so, or maybe even 97! 😜

That's sad, but things happen, so a good old waiting game is on.

There was a 63 Templar. Those sat around for a while, too. Years…
I only catched the 06. By the time I got an opportunity there were only 97, 15B&C, 06, and 19. Got the first three and happy. Though need me a similar 15 but without a chain, because I can't make myself remove it for it's uniqueness.

The #42 is my first GEC and, I think, the best. Been a while since they ran these. Wonder when we are due?
