Lets talk GEC!

Is anyone a fan of these harvesters? The viper is one of my favorite patterns, but I'm not sure I can justify the harvester blades. Seems like a huge carry for not much gain. Interesting box opener though. Could be fun for actual fruit picking with the kids.

I'm a big fan of pruners. Scored micarta, now need to get my hands on a rosewood. I'll need to bring out some trader fodder!

I missed the drop for the GEC # 47 at DLT traiding because I slept through the calendar appointment because of my do not disturb mode. I woke up 40 minutes before and went back to sleep. Woke up 20 minutes before and went back to sleep. Woke up at eight minutes late and they were all gone.

No, no, no. The last thing you want to do is use a knife for the purpose it was made.

The other week I took my GEC #65 Fish Keeper out of the house and went fishing. I caught some fish and cleaned them with it. This just goes to show how one sin can lead to another. The knife made an excellent job of it by the way, but I realise that's no mitigation (let alone defence) for my unforgivable behaviour.

I do a decent amount of gardening with my cold steel Tanto. I just have trouble imagining using the harvester that hard.

Plenty of examples of pruners that have been used hard here. Or Image search vintage pruner. It is what they are built for.

I only have a couple of pruners, one of which I've used quite a bit in my garden. It's a purpose built pattern and GEC's iterations should have no trouble holding up to such rigors. I'd have more pruners but I prefer them to have most of their blade left if I can find them so. Most vintage pruners that I come across have been used quite well and the blades show it.

I'm looking forward to the GEC, it will be fun to compare to the TEW below, which is a pretty excellent knife itself.

I’m not a fan of the pruner. I don’t do any pruning, so the blade width and shape doesn’t appeal to me. Now the cotton sampler I just have to have because it looks cool. I will not be sampling any cotton 😂
