Do we have confirmation they're actually different frames? The Remington is the 95 frame, 87s haven't been made yet.
At least we seen the tang stamps on the Remington saying "95", only need someone from those clubs to confirm that theirs are stamped "87".Do we have confirmation they're actually different frames?

Looks like it, Queen QCCC did a really nice one in Greenbone and other scales 20 or so years ago, similar arrangements to the Schatt & Morgan shown byEnglish jack?
Maybe 95 is for Remington only, and 87 is for the regular versions, at least this time? I mean, why would they introduce two quite similarly looking frames.
Outstanding news though!
My thoughts exactly, lengths looks to be similar on the two, especially with that long slender clip blade.![]()
Yes.Do we have confirmation they're actually different frames?
Do you have any idea on exact specs on the R9511 then?Yes.
We have the model numbers. R9511, and when they introduced it on the site they refered to it as the 95.
Go look at the spec sheets again upper left corner. 871223. OKCA news letter also refers to it as an 87.
The 95 will longer closer to 5 inches. 87 4.5 inches.
Why? Because Bill Howard has a list of things in his head he wants to make and he makes them.
No, however there are enough pictures of knives in trays on the GEC blog with known size that youDo you have any idea on exact specs on the R9511 then?![]()
we have 64 pattern # numbers used for knives + #01 and #02 for letter opener and knife pick = 66 GEC patterns (if my quick math is right)Has anyone done the math to figure out how many numbers are left from 1-99 inclusive that GEC has not made a pattern for? I think we are nearing the time when patterns will need three digits…….
And then Bill sells all of them without any real difficulty. (On the rare occasions when something doesn't sell out within a minute or two, people will even call it a 'failure', as if having a small handful of knives your company made on shelves at retailers for a few months is a bad thing.)Why? Because Bill Howard has a list of things in his head he wants to make and he makes them.
Not for a GEC for sure, because they sell everything out to their dealers. On the rare occasions when something doesn't sell out within a minute or two, people will even call it a 'failure'
Especially if we keep it within our heads. Trying to suggest something you feel appropriate to be done is not a bad thing, I think.Bill's not gonna make the things on the list in my head or your head
Sure, sure, and this is a knife forum - we talk about knives! So talk about your dream GEC (I'd really like them to make a single blade 86 one-arm shadow pattern in OD canvas micarta!). But I doubt Bill reads this or cares, and that's okay too.Especially if we keep it within our heads. Trying to suggest something you feel appropriate to be done is not a bad thing, I think.
I mean to email them with your suggestion, if you think it's worth it.Sure, sure, and this is a knife forum - we talk about knives! Yes, because there is no better feeling than when I post a picture of one of my carvings and a fellow reaches out to tell me how he would have done it.I mean to email them with your suggestion, if you think it's worth it.
Well, my dream GEC is pretty simple: 77 NF Barlow, single clip blade (like a 15 clip blade style), sawcut sepia or copperhead bone.
