Lets talk GEC!

More Vipers?

Try as I might, I can’t seem to equate this snake with the Esquire or Abilene stock knife, alas. But hey, whatever it is is gonna be great. Hopefully not great enough to make me hunt one down ;)

GEC made 50 #235108s in Bubinga, an "African Rosewood", fairly rare!!
Has it been used on other GECs???View attachment 2306754
Seem to recall you used some walnut salvaged from a gunstock on a run of TCs Mr. CC…that was used on nothing else if I also recall correctly.

Another rare wood in that is was only used on a single pattern AND model was the regular and charred beer barrel oak on the second run of Beer Scouts…a model that will never be made again.

I feel the same way. It just works. I hope the wait isn't too long for the next run but I'm thinking it might be a while.
There’s still relatively great availability of these. It realistically might be several years before the frame is used again, and no run is ever exactly the same in terms of configuration. So if there’s some you particularly like, it’s probably best to grab them now because in a couple of years they’ll probably be a lot harder to come by.

I think you are right. I grabbed a couple harness jacks and a northwood on the drop. Really would like a marrow but I think that ship has sailed (at a reasonable price).

Really enjoy carrying the 29 frame Stockyard Whittler (closer to a Cattle Knife than a Whittler with one spring for each blade). Nice blade selection, handy size, great F&F and W&T. Nothing not to like. OH

That's my favorite frame. Checks all my boxes. I'm only missing a few of the Maher and grosh ones.
