I second this.Never. The 86 is the best(my favorite) frame.
Trust me it was never cheap. No kidding, it'd painful to have gotten into this hobby right as everything gets more expensive and less obtainable, but it is what it is
Those ninnies don't have to buy them.I love the 23s too and have several but they don’t seem that popular with others, I think because they’re too big and too strong of spring for some people.
So true. I love those bear trap gator snapping back springs! Those ninnies don't have to buy them.![]()

Yep!Really enjoy carrying the 29 frame Stockyard Whittler (closer to a Cattle Knife than a Whittler with one spring for each blade). Nice blade selection, handy size, great F&F and W&T. Nothing not to like. OH

Seem to recall you used some walnut salvaged from a gunstock on a run of TCs Mr. CC…that was used on nothing else if I also recall correctly.GEC made 50 #235108s in Bubinga, an "African Rosewood", fairly rare!!
Has it been used on other GECs???View attachment 2306754
I feel the same way. It just works. I hope the wait isn't too long for the next run but I'm thinking it might be a while.Never. The 86 is the best(my favorite) frame.
There’s still relatively great availability of these. It realistically might be several years before the frame is used again, and no run is ever exactly the same in terms of configuration. So if there’s some you particularly like, it’s probably best to grab them now because in a couple of years they’ll probably be a lot harder to come by.I feel the same way. It just works. I think you are right. I grabbed a couple harness jacks and a northwood on the drop. Really would like a marrow but I think that ship has sailed (at a reasonable price). There’s still relatively great availability of these. That's my favorite frame. Checks all my boxes. I'm only missing a few of the Maher and grosh ones.Really enjoy carrying the 29 frame Stockyard Whittler (closer to a Cattle Knife than a Whittler with one spring for each blade).
