Lets talk GEC!

I remember when the sausage models came out, everybody making fun of them and rejecting them, they remained unsold for months, I was forced to buy one of each variants to help a dealer who could not even give them away .......

Hopefully these newer models will fair a bit better..

I think with the current GEC fever people will just snatch them up no matter how much they dislike them.

Man I rememberthe sausage knives selling out pretty quickly as well. I think there’s enough people interested in GEC that almost invariably they’ll all sell.

The only difference is the barlows will sell out in seconds. I think the urbans have been sitting for an hour or so at the more expensive dealers.

One design I don't like is the easy open,it takes away from the look of the handles.the 85 eo do not grab me like the full handled 85 for reference. Some patterns don't have enough handle material, the 54 and 98's can pull it off.

I must admit the beer and sausage would go good with my 5 in one shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/dish soap/lube.but I have always considered I mean the wife has always considered the hygiene factor that goes with the beer and sausage.

Sorry if I missed the conversation, any insight on what the Agate ESPL covers are? I assume GEC isn't messing around with stone slabs... 🤔

I don't care how unloved the beer and sausage is by purists. I have always wanted one. So far I haven't been able to find one for a price I can stomach. Is there some rumor about a rerun?

People are losing their minds over a comb. These are great.

The Agate ESPL is perfect for it. Also, this is the coolest piece of bocote I’ve seen.

My beard smells like NIT GEC and the night is young.

I’m certainly of the opinion that the comb is silly/odd, but I also have two Beer & Sausage #35s (one with a comb delete) and one Urban Jack from the last run (what can I say, I liked the way the green canvas Micarta looked), so I figured I’d grab just one of these. I had the chance earlier today and went with the jigged bone, although I’m sort of second-guessing myself now. Confusing name aside, I do like the subtle look of the ESP whatever the L it is. Maybe I should’ve gone with that one.

Personally I think the blade etch is much worse than the comb, particularly on these where it doesn’t even fit on the sheepsfoot. 🙄

Ah yes the old “BRR TOOL”, or is it a BBR TOOL?
I’m not hip so I don’t keep up with trendy terminology 😂

People cut various things with their, 1095- rusting/patina covered, knife blade all day, add any oil to it, cut their food with it and this is done with minimal cleaning BUT, they worry that if they comb their hair or beard with a different tool on the knife their hair will contaminate the blade and poison them OR that the germs from the blade will jump onto their hair.

A victorinox can have scissors that can be used to cut hair or nails, a saw that can be used to cut wood, a screwdriver that can be used to screw in dirty greasy screws but people still use the blade for food without worrying about cross contamination.

I agree that I don’t love the etch anyway, and the positioning of it is goofy.

I think the jigged bone will be great. Nice color and interesting jig pattern. The ESPL is a welcome addition and i hope to see it on more Tidioutes in the future. It would look good on Farm and Field as well.
