Lets talk GEC!

@bbfish richlite is a light weight material similiar to micarta definetly lighter then bone and I would think lighter then most wood scales
I own a few fixed blades with richlite handles and they remind me of linen micarta
So more similar to micarta than delrin

Urban Jack is on its way. Gonna cost some money to get it the way I want it. I enjoy a 3 1/2 inch knife. Comb, Etch, and maybe the shield are gone. Besides my Korean genes do not allow me to grow a decent beard😂😂😂. Looking forward to the finished product.

Bill warned us that the sawcut on our hemlock green BF knife would make it almost black - which he was right about.
Howcome that is not the case on this 15? The green is visible all over.

So IMHO, the latest Urban Jacks are far superior to the 2021 models. They have a brass frame with nickel bolsters which I prefer to the former all steel construction, they come with a sheepsfoot instead of a spear, they have a long nail pull which is more aesthetically pleasing and useful than the short nail nick, and they come in exotic wood (Mexican Bocote). This knife is a real winner in my book!!

The attraction for me is the ability to use a lanyard, in winter I'm a lanyard kinda guy ,a.i just prefer it.it is easy to access, now a benchmade 940 is even easier, but I use a flip phone so obviously I carry a traditional .lanyard+ tractor green, bring it on.what green is the 81 moose,it looks about the same.i think the bayou trapper is dark green.i don't have either I'm going by pictures.

Where are you having this done and how much does it cost? This is exactly what I want to do with one of the elderberry 15s.

Do they fit the hand ok? The 14 is too small for me. Not having held a 15, I’m unsure if the extra half inch makes much difference. I like a stouter knife.
15s are probably on the smaller side for you if you prefer a stout knife. I would suggest the 44 for a nice stout GEC.

Or an 86. To me, the 14 is small, the 15 feels more like a normal knife, and an 86 feels like a 15 that's been eating well and putting in time at the weight rack. 💪

Thickness counts too. I've a few of the 2018 #56 Bird Dogs, all two-blade versions, and despite being just 3.5" (same as a #15) they feel hand-filling, comfortable and substantial for the size. Enter the 2023 version of the #56, a single-blade easy-open Dog Leg Jack, and I was surprised how the thinner girth makes the knife feel 'smaller' somehow.

There was a 3-blade, 3-spring version of the #56 released in 2011, called the Weaver Jack, which would be even thicker - never seen one, it must be a rare beast, but I'd sure like to get my hands on it!
