I’ve been using the boiled vinegar and water method. It works pretty well. You are doing a better job on your etch than I am. Working on it though!

I boil vinegar for two minutes in the microwave. But first, make sure you clean it very well with rubbing alcohol (or fingerprints will show.) Dip in vinegar until desired darkness. Neutralize with water. If you don’t like the look, you can always rub it off. That might be my next step. I used it on some creamy cheese, cut up an apple, and then peeled some orange peels for cocktail hour, then did about 20 minutes in apple cider vinegar. Thought that would do a pretty good job, but it’s just a fainter etch.
Such a nice knife though I know the etch will fade.
This is the first and probably only time I’ll do it to hide the hideous hipster. The only thing worse than fake saw cutting is fake patina……… you people should be ashamed!
Hey I see the tractor green is out,who has them, let us see,and what is walk and talk like.
If Mrs. Crappie doesn't like green, I'm your huckleberry.View attachment 2479827
The pull feels like a five to me, and they both have good snap. The fit and finish is spot on. Overall I’m happy with both. I prefer the Richlite over the Tractor Green, so I’m letting Mrs. Crappie have the Tractor Green.
How can we call it sawcut when it's *not*. It's CNC'd, great if you like it but it's milled, not sawn. It doesn't look remotely sawcut to my eye. I run a tablesaw quite a bit and have seen plenty of rough sawcuts. Sawcut style? Imitation sawcut?
If your still hunting for a green what are my chances, you are one of the better hunters around,I have witnessed the many trophies you tracked and slayed lol.go get em.I’m still hunting for a green but I’ll get a brown richlite posted soon
To follow the GEC naming convention it would be sawcut jigged. But i guess all sawcut is a type of jigging so that brings us full circle.I also run a table saw quite a bit, along with many other saws and share your observations.
I am also a semanticist, and support your concerns.
I will give the name some more thought.
... Milled sawcut?
Hmm... possibly more to follow.
Yes. Why, though, would they follow their own convention? Hahaha. To follow the GEC naming convention it would be sawcut jigged. But i guess all sawcut is a type of jigging so that brings us full circle.
They won't answer.I got some opinions. I wonder how fast they would hang up on me.
I'll take all threeView attachment 2479827

You seem pretty on the ball for getting in some trophy knives (that also get usedIf your still hunting for a green what are my chances, you are one of the better hunters around,I have witnessed the many trophies you tracked and slayed lol.go get em.
Descriptors in turn are divided to visual execution descriptors like 'Grizzly Cut', 'Tractor Green', 'Goldenrod' etc. and physical execution descriptors like 'burnt (stag)', 'jigged', 'sawcut' etc. In accordance to latest news, we have a dilemma if the term 'sawcut' still belongs to the physical execution descriptors category, or will it from now on refer only to a visual execution of a handle material used.'Sawcut', 'Grizzly Cut', 'Cougar Clawed' etc are descriptors
