Lets talk GEC!

Did those have really low production numbers? I don't think I've seen one pop up for sale yet.
I’m guessing so? I got it second hand and TBH i dont know how people get them from dealers. I’m thankful for the generosity of members here or I would never get a chance.

I got this 15 in recently. I have to say, I'm not opposed to GEC using richlite more often! It feels more grippy than micarta (even the smooth parts). Looking forward to what other interesting/colorful dye effects they can achieve with this material.

The only 97 I had previously bought was a stag, which was bulky in hand and had the sort of odd double nail nick. Picked up this bone Tidioute version a few days ago and I wish I had picked this one years ago. Pull is still fairly light, but feels much better in hand.
Congrats! Thats one of my favorite knives. Out of the tube, the action on mine was so terrible that it had a half-slow-down, not a half-stop. Thorough cleaning changed everything about it - the action is lightish, but perfectly fine, and crisp.

Agree - I got mine a few days ago, as 'second choice' because I missed on the green bone. To one who generally shuns the non-natural cover materials, this Richlite is a pleasant surprise! Very nice indeed, in no way looks or feels like the second-rate imposter I'd feared. And the Sheepfoot works brilliantly on this knife. Some have complained about lack of snap, but there's nothing wrong with my example - a nice snappy 5 pull, I'd say. I'm going to enjoy using this.

100%

Mine wasn't snappy until I flushed it with oil three times. Now it has a perfect snappy 5 pull.

Yea its not so light that its too big of a deal. I think in an ideal world I'd love the pull on these 97s to be on the 23LL and vice versa.

It says Navy Blue and Purple Phlox presented on the same pics, which means they dyed bone with one blue color, separated dark ones from pale ones and marked them as different colors. Clever!

Maybe we will see such a division from now on regularly, so everyone will be able to choose which shade they want to get!
I have a chance to buy one talk me out of it (or in).

Ive never seen one is it to small after A 15?

A year or two ago, I sorted some miscellaneous Ebony knives into a drawer, and this one bided its time in a corner of the drawer until I came across it today!! I noticed the numbers didn't seem to agree with the pattern. On this knife, it reads 748117!!
Shouldn't it be 741117?? Opinions please!!!:D

(Edited - I checked on GEC's site and the numbers are correct!! picture added here)View attachment 2408748
So the clip-shaped blade in this knife is an "8" not a "1"!!
Anyway, the ebony has a very slight brownish streak in it; very lively. The action is very smooth, with about a 7 pull, just perfect IMO!!! The matte finish is pleasing also!! I've long ago misplaced/lost the tube, so maybe I'll carry this one some day - it feels so nice!! I guess I am not a true GEC collector, or I'd keep better track of the tubes!!
Anyway, please enjoy my pics, of a very well made GEC Stallion!!!

Its a true classic one of my first GECs,I bought it as it can be pinched open.

I carry and use it,one of the best users.

The ability to pinch the blade is why I like the 47 so much, the other day was -20 so working outside required gloves, mine have rubber on the tips for grip,so the ability to grab the lanyard from the slip and the pinch able blade makes it first pick.

I find the 14 small, but some people like the size.also not a fan of the light pull.i wouldn't mind trying one but with customs and shipping to canada its a pass for me.but at a great price you never know.

My 14 beer club has what I'd call a 5 pull which is perfect and why it is my favorite 14, and I love carrying my watch pocket as a backup blade. My other two 14's I would say are 3-4 pulls. Maybe I got lucky with the beer cub.
