GEC called these, "Old Fashioned Hefty Jacknives"!!
They are indeed beefy, and bold, and, Ebony (Macassar in this case), is one of the most traditional knife handle materials!! Great production from knifemaker Bill!!!

I received a 2022 Remington Barlow today. It is very similar in size to a #97 Allegheny. Same length, but slightly narrower, thinner and lighter.







It was made by GEC, so the fit and finish is stellar as expected. The walk and talk is pretty much on par with the 97, between a 5 and 6.

Yes, the repetitiveness of patterns and cover materials is killing FOMO for me.

Could might as well be but it is a well done one.

It is dark but there's a touch of brown or deep red to it too. I'm really happy with it.

The 86 pattern is the best fit for my hands if I'm doing half hour or more work with a knife,no if what's or butts about it,but I really like the second blade to be an awl/punch it's a really useful tool for me.

Ya they were good,the older ones with pictures deleted struck a nerve,but it really gave you insight into the new releases.as for fiddleback release reminds of fried in battle spring time fiddlebacks.
