Bunch of bull in that picGot this red linen in today. I love a square bolster stockman, so I knew I’d like this (that, and I already have an 81 Bull Moose from a few year back that I like a lot).

I guess I hadn’t seen any pictures yet of the “FOR FLESH ONLY” etch on the spey blade, so that was a nice little surprise. I think it’s a nice touch, reminiscent of the spey blade etches on some old stockman knives.

Will Power the red Micarta is definitely a lighter color than previous GEC red micartas. I don’t have a lot, but here are a couple for comparison. I thought the 86, which is from last year, was too light, and this is even lighter. The Bull Nose on the far right might be called “maroon” rather than red, I don’t remember off the top of my head.

Perhaps Spears are from the Land of the Point...?Spears do have points...
Bolster areas diameter? Can anyone tell the difference between 93 and 47 frames? Both say 3 7/8" length. Maybe the curves differ a bit? Or bolster length? Handle width?

Seems so! Thanks! And the curve appears to be the same on both. Not just the bolster area, the #47 is wider for its entire length (by about 1/8")

Does the 47 always have a lanyard tube? Can anyone tell the difference between 93 and 47 frames? Both say 3 7/8" length. Maybe the curves differ a bit? Or bolster length? Handle width?

Does the 47 always have a lanyard tube?
(What's the deal with that Release Date for the 470124??)
- GT
I have never had the 93 but one of the main draws for me is the lanyard on the 47,during our northern Canadian prairie winters I really appreciate the usefulness of the 47 and the easy draw, with just a little tug of the lanyard your ready to go,cold hands appreciate it.Does the 47 always have a lanyard tube?

Thank you! Now it's clear to me!I had taken this picture for a friend the other day. Not the best pic, but shows the difference in handle shape pretty well.

They had vipers in 2014 and the 2020 version of the purple 47 viper was one of the earlier patterns that peaked my interest .I think so.

Vipers came out at late 2023, then they suddenly reappeared with a couple more versions in early 2024.
Still you'll have to be able to use fine motor skills to open the knife, anyway.the easy draw, with just a little tug of the lanyard your ready to go,cold hands appreciate it.
Eliminate one barrier at a time, now if I wanted to be uncouth amongst the couth I could carry a flick knife, but is it worth giving up on who I am as a bushed out gentlemen, for me it is not.Still you'll have to be able to use fine motor skills to open the knife, anyway.
