Lets talk GEC!

The stag 22 almost pulled me in. The covers are all nice looking, but the pattern is too small for me. The 15 is small as I've gone with GEC. I am interested in a 25 whenever they come back around. I think that's as small as I'd enjoy.

I don’t see the utility of 4 identical blades? The forum knife will be the best version if all the other 91s have 4 blades the same.

Those miners were too busy to sharpen their sheep’s foot blades used on dynamite? The straight edge is the quickest and easiest blade to sharpen - even I can do it well.

I don’t see the word sharpen in the article. It does say "wear out" however, they were sharpening them quite often. Most likely because the dynamite was dulling them quickly.

No doubt the "dynamite" knife is a Unicorn of traditional knives, made by one or very few cutlers, for a very specific customer, for a very specific task. Everyone made a stockman you can get those anywhere, I'll go with the 4 sheepsfoot blades myself. I'm going to carry it with my 53E so I have 6 sheepsfoot and a screwdriver in my pocket. 😆

Dynamite is a blend of nitroglycerin and kieselgurhs which is a powder of siliceous sedimentary Rock. A Very abrasive stuff.
Miners had to cut neatly several dynamite sticks at the right size they put in holes they had drilled at the right places to get the most efficient explosive charge.

That's why they needed 4 Sheepfoot blades. They had no time to waste at playing with dynamite in a mine.

It has very cool historical significance and would be a great collection piece but I don’t see myself carrying a knife in that configuration. I still love seeing these unique patterns coming to life.
I agree with you . It is not one that I would ever carry or use , plus it will be too expensive for me to want to just have in my meager collection . For those who like them , I wish you some luck to get one or more .

I agree. I somehow justified the Pocket Carver to myself, but it's got two different blade sizes...and cost a lot less...and is small enough carry along with a bigger, more versatile knife...and I'm more likely to use little scalpel type blades...and it's got smooth white bone with a cool shield...
