Lets talk GEC!

I don't think it was your leather slip either. This was my owl straight pocket carried from November to February when I first got it and was amazed at how quickly the color faded. I carried an older bone spear owl that aged much better in terms of color. 🤷‍♂️

This is interesting to know. Still, I didn't really carried it except for one or two times, and how could it fade so much without any actual use is a mystery to me... I guess White Owl is actually a cryptic hint.
keep rubbing, itll be white bone in no time!
Maybe, but I like light creamy color.

It has to be weak dye or a colour not fixed properly? Nothing should fade out this quickly. It's a pity as the original colour was very effective and suits the jigging. I have heard of similar things on the Churchill with this 'Winterbottom' style jigging. My other bone White Owls (stainless Light Tan) (carbon Rust Red) have remained fine.

Now he is about to turn in for bed, he nervously decides to check over his White Owl...will there be any sleep thereafter....;)

Kept it on a table along with many other knives to admire, Mark side certainly looking under the weather, anaemic :(

Maybe Tea dye...but those polished blades will suffer...perhaps permanganate ?

Those moose are right down my alley,it's just a matter of whether any dealer even walks the alleyways in northern canada let alone mine.

...and remembered about my White Owl of the same bone style and color. I took it out to tote and was I astonished to find it discolored heavily! Here's pictures of then:

I only carried it a couple of times, in a leather slip. Could it be that chemicals in leather caused the discoloration? Though I don't understand why it happened also in the depth of the jigging grooves. They definitely weren't in contact with anything physically...
Mine changed in the mail from the usa to canada,so it is what it is lol
