Here's an example of purpleheart wood that is fairly purple -- the examples in the GEC production photos look a bit browner to me...

I've read that it purples as it darkens, as it were. When initially cut/split, it is brown rather than purple. We shall see!

I look forward to seeing the photos! The frame and blade set on these is very cool.

Thanks. I've pretty much stopped trying to score new GECs in the past few years. Just not worth the stress.

There are a few patterns I would like to see though, so never say never.

Ya I was able to get an s 62 at just above dealer price for a non s model,but in all seriousness the 62 is a unique pattern and glad I bought one
I call it the jim Fenton contraption

I think you might want to look into whether paint is a thing in your kneck of the woods,it brings out the contrast in pine.but it might not be pine lol.but like the turquoise on black like the one you gifted me.
