I was on the fence, Charlie, but your recommendation pushed me over the edge. (Thanks for being an effective enabler...The #66 Li'l Cowboy, compact at 3 1/2", with a single spring and two blades, certainly punches above it's weight!!!View attachment 3090347View attachment 3090349
I'm surprised we don't see more postings of it!! It is a top ten knife IMO!!!
Trouble loves company!!!I was on the fence, Charlie, but your recommendation pushed me over the edge. (Thanks for being an effective enabler...)

I have a primitive bone collection. I really love the character in these!![]()
I had forgotten I had this knife. It is a 79 pattern Northfield Montanna Workhorse Whittler in primitive bone I purchased from the factory seconds store about 10 years ago. I have no idea why it is a second. This is a very robust knife and the main spear blade is basically elephant toe size.
Purpleheart 98 just in...

Definitely plenty of purple -- plenty of grain, as well. From what I have seen of the production photos, this seems to be characteristic of this run.
I'm finding the action to be very appropriate for this big fella -- 6-7 pull on the main, 7-8 on the pen, right out of the tube. Action is very crisp, with great snap, flush at the half-stops. Think you're gonna like it!What’s the action like on em? I’ve got one coming.
Sure, but it will be a long wait before Bill goes to 3 blade knives again!!Talking about whittlers, I think #34 frame is just asking for it. Norfolk Whittler with that distinctive unusually shaped clip blade. Think that's a worthy SFO ideawaynorth ?
