Lets talk GEC!

The 98 will attract a lot of enthusiasm, too big for my carry tastes but I hope this big knife will have BIG Walk&Talk. Big knives are meant to have momentum :) No mushy pull or weakling snap here  Let's see.
I hope so also!! I have one on order!!!

Also managed a Ruby Red Li'l Cowboy!!Lil Red Cowboy 1.jpgLil Red Cowboy 2.jpg
The "Springfield Bone" came out a deep red - I like it!! Snap is good on this one also!!

Sure looks like a single spring!!!🤞
I agree and am in serious need to get one of these then. I was able to collect all but one of the 98 Texas split back whittlers , love this model, but the "pen knife", equal end single spring, is my absolute favorite traditional knife pattern. Have hoped and prayed for another run of 53 TK Cuban for years, this will make up for that for me.

Good luck to both of us!!! 😁

According to the wood database, which matches what I have seen as well in my limited experience…

“When freshly cut the heartwood of purpleheart can be a dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure—usually within a few days—the wood becomes a deeper eggplant purple. With further age and exposure to UV light, the wood becomes a dark brown with a hint of purple. This color-shift can be slowed and minimized by using a UV inhibiting finish on the wood.”
