Lets talk GEC!

GEC called it the Ranch Hand!! It fills the bill as a trapper, in my book, and a purty one at that, with nice Stag and detailing!!!
I'm temped to learn how to rope a calf so I can authentically carry that nice knife!! 😂 Ranch Hand Trap 74 1.jpg
Northfield #741213, so nicely made!! Spay a calf; cut some tough rope - eat a tough steak - Grrrr - does the job, undoubtedly!!!;)

Man… that’s a good one!

Pulled this pic out of my photo file, the picture was taken a little over a year ago. The osage handled GEC 29 is about 7 yrs old and the log it is resting on is also osage that was cut and split into a fence post over 90 years ago. That fence post was in the ground for 65 years and has been laying on the ground outside my shop for an additional 30+ years. The bark is weathered as you can see but the heartwood inside is still solid, a testament to osage rot resistance. So when my knife gets passed down after I leave this earth the handle covers should hold up for many decades. Hopefully it stays in the family and is well cared for. :)
