Lets talk GEC!

Nice knife, B BOHAWG !!! Maybe we should start a thread featuring Inaugural year GECs???!! 20 years in production!!!

(edited to add some thoughts!!)
In 2006, Bill had not generated his "numbering" system yet!! He was influenced quite a bit by Remington's historical, prodigious and wonderful output!!
The springs are strong on this knife, and the fitting is "flush and square" at the tangs, all Remington traits, along with the model number "73"!!
I believe those influences were well chosen; Bill's early knives were wonderful, and impressive!! I should have bought a bunch more at the time!!
First Year Scout 1.jpgI hope people will post their first year GEC knives !!

A couple of question for you all:

A few years ago I visited GEC in Titusville and picked up an H20 with a sheath. Now I am not 100% certain that I recall receiving it in a tube. I keep all of my tubes in one place and I do not have a tube for the H20 amongst them.

1.) Do these fixed blades ship in a tube?
2.) If so, do they provide the tubes with a knife purchase at the factory store?

I am shipping it off to a fellow and I want to make sure I am doing right by him.

Thanks, guys. I wish my memory wasn't failing me in this moment. I am almost certain that I picked up the sheath because I was concerned about traveling home with a bare blade, otherwise I didn't care for the sheath that much. I'll keep on the hunt, for the tube and/or the memories.

A little controversy for Tuesday!!! Is this a "one of one" knife??
Preban 68 1.jpgPreban 68 2.jpgI traded a small (young) pre-ban tusk to GEC back in the day, for a promise that Bill would handle each pattern that came out, with the material, for a limited time!! I cannot remember if he produced more White Owls with "Bark" or not?!?! I cannot find a record on GEC's site!!! Can anyone help me???
The serial number "04" indicates there are more of these, but maybe "interior", not "bark"???

If you look at the 2012 Production Totals, they show (in red) several 2011 knives.

Among the Northfields I see:

681211
Bark Elephant Ivory 5 pcs. serialised
Interior Elephant Ivory 8 pcs. serialised

So yours would appear to be #04 of 5

Do I win a prize Charlie?

I only looked under 2011!! Thanks for your investigative skills!!! You certainly win the Blue Ribbon for them, dovidola!!!

So, my knife is #04 of 5 ; and 13 were made in total!!Preban 68 1.jpg

Here's my First Year GEC but I've had it modded and the secondary blade was deleted. So now in an hundred years time pedants will be bickering over the legitimacy of this ultra rare one of one 🤣 But it is one out of 177. I like the Sheffield Bone on these, colour and jigging. The 73 works better as a single blade for me at least.
