Lets talk GEC!

Its got more character than Shakespeare:D
Be sure to use clear transparent drying glue.

I'm interested in the production numbers as well. For those of you who may know or have a better feel than I do....What are the chances of GEC doing a run of 92 patterns this year?

Thanks for any insight,
Rick

I don't think GEC take on this kind of work, and based on my experience of them carrying out repairs under warranty, I wouldn't recommend sending it to them. If you want the covers replacing, I'm sure Glennbad could do something for you. It really doesn't look that bad to me, but as Barry has suggested, a little epoxy will help secure the bone, and won't affect future repairs
What makes you say you don't recommend sending it to them?

Rick, I don't know and don't have a better feel than anyone else, but the 92s are a very popular pattern... the Eureka Jack was last made in 2013 and the Talon in 2014. They were about as hot as the Vipers. I'd sure like to see another run. We'll see.

Magic Eight Ball says: the odds are favorable.

Barry, I wish that magic 8 ball would show a 62, 81, or a sowbelly as favorable as well. :)

I'm surprised that magic 8 ball hasn't shown a 55..... the non liner locks, especially the wharncliffe, seemed to be pretty popular. Sure, they have the coyote and all, but that's a baby knife by comparison.

That's what I'm holding out for. I'm hoping for a 55 in snakewood.

I was looking at GEC's updated production schedule. They are showing the #47 Snake Skin is "still on schedule" and is in acrylic. I'm looking foward to that.

How about the #68 White Owl? Everybody who has them loves them, they hardly ever get resold, and they seem to have not been made since 2012. Possibility within the next year or two?

I've wanted a White Owl with a bail for a long time. Been patiently waiting. I'd love to see the natural canvas micarta trend continue, with a main clip blade and small coping blade.

Question

What would people think about a PPP stamp on the blade vs the PPP etch, making it a more permanent feature.

Not sure if it would really work out but I do like the blade stamp on my Ancient Barlow a lot, feel like it adds some character.
