Lets talk GEC!

That is a great guess! Folks seem to be loving the Beagle, but like you, Steve, I'm not really interested. The swirly acrylic is almost enough to make me get one anyway tho.

I'm still hoping for something 98 related. The arrowhead shield on something that big would really be something.

Sweet! any hints? Anyone know anything? Speculation?

For anyone wondering on the MYSTERY NORTHWOODS KNIFE here's your answer on this page :)

I seem to remember that originally it said they should hit in the first quarter, which of course has come and gone. Then it was changed to "filled in 2016".

I emailed them sometime back to get an idea about potential handles and they advised that the IRJ would not be made by Queen this time, but it would have the super-steel again (which would preclude GEC, right???). They also weren't sure about handles at that time.

Who knows, but a little mystery in this age of everything being posted online is a good thing! 😀

Mystery is good!......I know the in side scoop and it will be amazing.....

Thanks for the link!

Quote from Ryouchijtx, from above link, post #29.

"For everyone wondering if GEC will ever pursue a Zulu Spear. Look for signs of such next month.
Derrick Bohn of Northwoods Knives posted this teaser on facebook.
It looks to be Tony Bose's design done under the Northwoods Name."

I just received a brand new GEC and it didn't come with a button.

Do they not make enough buttons for every knife made?

EDIT: It was a Runaway Beagle. I bought two. One came with a button, the other didn't.

The buttons are just a random thing. No guarantee that they are in every tube.

Of the 8 or so I have only the beer scout had the button. Fine with me, I'm not so much into the tubes and buttons and stuff, but definitely not in all of them.

I have over 100 GEC knives.... Yeah, I have a problem :o Very few of them contained buttons in the tubes. I have maybe 10 buttons for all of those knives. But, they're also a newer thing for GEC. Just be happy you got a bonus!

If the buttons are just put in random tubes then I guess I got lucky to get 1 the second GEC I bought. It was a Texas Camp Knife SFO By Charlie Campania. I wonder did all
of them come with a button being a SFO and all? Just curious

this year has been hell on my finances! so many "Must Buys"!! Welp, I'm off to sell some knives so I can get in on these mystery knives from KSF! Not to mention some snakewood and camel bone talons coming out of DLT within the month! Then the beerscout, then the tc barlow!?? Cmon, give my wallet a break!

@Tubes - I love these. I think its a great way to package their product. Also helps with storage even reselling if desired.

@buttons - Is a cute idea. I'm sure some make use of it or collect them. I don't care either way tho. I got one with my beagle. Just sits in the tube.

@finances - Yes. Far to many "Must Buys" of late lol, And more on the horizon. That and evolving tastes in style, form and function make for a rather empty wallet.

@zulu - That looks interesting. Glad its not a talon, as I don't really like them. I would have been good with a Northwoods 18 frame. I look forward to seeing more of this and wonder what kind of handle mats will be available.

New production schedule posted today. Not much to see, other than it looks like the 15's are up next. The only addition is the #15 rope knife aka navy SS

Still clinging to the faint hope that the SFO Talons might suddenly inspire GEC to do a short run of their own Bareheads with Spear blade. Clutching at straws:D:thumbup:

Of all the things they could have made a stainless version of....(Beerscout!?)
And they make a SS Navy knife..!????? I dont get it.
