Lets talk GEC!

GEC hasn't made regular run, open stock Barlows since 2011. All the #15 TC Barlows are Charlie Campagna SFO's. All the #77 Northfield Barlows are SFO's for collectorknives.net. The recent run of #25 Barlows were an SFO for Gunstock Jack. The upcoming #14 Barlows are an SFO for Charlie Campagna.

Uggh...... I'm totally interested in the Beer Scouts and the 72's. Not really interested in the 14's at all. Too small for my hands.

At least I'll have lots of time to save up money.

I'm right there with you!

I thought so too, but they snuck in other production runs recently few seemed to know about.

If they have a run of #14 Barlows with all the same scale materials as Charlie's SFO, Mr. Campagna will have a right to be very unhappy with GEC.

Charlie had a GAW on naming the sawcut bone covers, I guess the Ragg Bone won out. Nothing official on the thread, but noticed it was closed. congrats on the winner:thumbup:

Thats a shame, I thought using the wane was kind of a neat idea, it referenced the way this particular bone is manufactured, and there were lots of good name suggestions that made reference to the wane

Interesting to me that Lyle's SFO (antique yellow jig bone) is the same as the regular production run. I wonder if he will have something unique - like a different bolster or blade finish.

I also wonder if the TC "white" bone is different than "smooth ivory bone"... I wouldn't think so, but the TC is listed as "white" bone on the production schedule.

I believe this was an accidental duplicate of Charlie's run on the schedule.

They also show a bolster on the "What's Happening" page that they list as being for #15 TC Barlows, but I called and was told that is a typo and should say #14.

The two boxes that have Barlow at the top are the single blade and two blade versions of the SFO

Geez, looking at that production schedule today, it's pretty much all SFO's... :grumpy:

Very true that this is %95 SFO's but they are all the same knife in different cover materials which should really speed up production. I would be surprised if these are not completely finished in 6 weeks, probably less. On a positive note there Are so many options that almost everyone should be able to get a knife in a material they like with the vast majority of #14's readily available. We also get to wonder what else comes next besides the Boys Knives, Beer Scouts and #72's.

I'm really looking forward to the ragg bone. The anniversary 15 barlows were by far one of my favorites ever and I hope they can capture what case was doing back in the 60s.

Who will be carrying the #15 barlows? I'd love to get one, but can't figure out where. They don't even show on the production schedule.

That's a lot of SFOs, especially for a smaller pattern. There will be huge demand for the barlows (of course) but my impression is that smaller size patterns typically don't sell as fast as the 3.25"-3 7/8" range. And there are a lot of 14 knives. To me, bumping up the numbers of 14 and 15 barlows and 15 stainless knives would better meet demand. There does seem to be a lot of interest in the aesthetics of materials so maybe all of these choices are necessary. I'm happy with any traditional looking jigged bone or stag. I think adding a (tiny) classic shield would make a SFO stand out even more. It looks like these will all be shieldless. I missed the barlows from everyone that I could contact. So I may be watching this one from the sidelines.

If my quick count of the GEC #15 stainless tubes in their photo is accurate, and assuming that's all of them, there are just 229 of those. That's not many at all!

There's no #15 Barlows in production, or on the production schedule right now. The only Barlow that I know of is the #14. If you are looking for the #14 TC Barlow they are likely sold out everywhere... but if you wanted to make sure you would need to check with the dealers.
