Lets talk GEC!

The popularity of the stainless "short runs" will almost certainly lead to larger runs of similar knives later. My new 15s have been very hard to put down! The fit and finish on these is crazy good.

I haven't been into GEC as long as many here, but I have learned that you have to be patient. If all GECs were easy to get, I can virtually guarantee that the interest level would be nowhere near what it is. Hanging out in this forum and participating will also lead you to knives you would have otherwise missed.

You guys are going to get this thread locked if you keep talking about the buying process and the dealers, based on the most recent posts in the thread by BOTH moderators.

yes we are. and perhaps nothing would highlight the whole sorry business better.

I've personally seen the #15 listed on several sites - you need to find the right retailers/sites and sign up for their newsletters. Often times they will send an email out as soon as live.

Here's hoping I get to expand my GEC small knife collection with a couple #14 TCs that magically appear in my mailbox from parts unknown.

Time to take a new family picture with the Beagles and my more recent 'yotes...

GEC sure makes some nice knives, don't they?

They do indeed! :D

The new 14 TC Barlows look super sweet!

Yes! I'm really looking forward to these.

Beer Barrel Oak Beer Scout! Ummm yes please. This is a guaranteed win. I'm "sure" to get one. Are you guys who can't seem to buy a GEC knife "sure" as well.

I miss my ebony beer scout :(

Me too: I got GitD, ebony, micarta soda and cocobolo; and for his birthday I offered my dad his choice of them .. Oops, he chose the ebony. I guess our tastes are too similar so I can't be too surprised it was both of our favorite. ;)

What would anyone gain from that happening? Would it somehow magically make things all better for everyone across the board? I'd hardly think so. I would advise adhering to the guidelines of this specific subforum and retaining a respectful demeanor when replying. This is much ado about nothing in the long run, and being a thorn in the side of a discussion is not going to help anyone, quite the opposite. The instigators may find themselves the recipients of unwanted moderator intervention. Good luck finding the pieces you are after everyone. Carry on, respectfully and in a civil manner.

Was already "sure" about it, given GEC's recent run of awesome wood releases. The "golden ale" bone was upgraded, too, once I found out the name of the bone. Not enough gold in my life, but this should fix that. :D

Let the rollercoaster begin. I expect many tears missing out on another TC but the Beer Scouts should lighten me life up a little.

Been carrying this #12 Powderhorn Jack recently. I have always liked the #12 pattern in both the Jack and Toothpick variants. I didn't care for the Templar variation, though.

I wonder if the barrel wood will smell like ale like the Oil Sucker Rod wood still smells like oil 100 years later. I don't know how ale smells 100 years later though...
