Lets talk GEC!

This is strange to me. I'd rather be able to get a knife I want than own a few limited ones. If 62873820263 other people have the same knife as I do that has zero effect on the one I own, to me anyways. I only see how this matters if you are wanting to resell it and make more due to limited numbers.

I certainly concur with this, when I like a knife it's immaterial whether it's a rarity or not, it's the quality and aesthetics that appeal to me.

That said, the pix of the Rotten Banana Bone 14s certainly whet my appetite, but I know I won't get one (for now & I won't pay some stellar price either) as they were all sold out and I had no idea who the commissioning dealer was anyway. But if GEC suddenly made a run of 200 of them it would in no way diminish their allure in my eyes-provided quality & finish were good.

The 38 Farmer's Knife was an oddity and short-run, they certainly drew me but I could only afford 2 at the time. With some help from other Forumites and a bit of luck and waiting, I've been able to get a nice selection together of 1 frequently used and carried example and three display knives. All obtained at reasonable prices. Contentment is a long term project founded on patience.

I'm jumping all over that Rotten Banana Bone. Been wanting one for years.

Yeab I was all over them too lol. I'm really just getting started at this whole knife collecting thing but once I got a look at a photo of a knife with the RBB handles I knew I wanted one I was even lucky enough to get one in Single Blade my preferred choice. :D

I'm excited for my simple ebony single blade 14. Seems like I reserved it forever ago.

I wsh I could when i get mind but as sad as it is to admit I can't for the life of me figure out how to upload my photos. I got them as far as the Photo bucket site but that was as far as I could go. Im just going to have to get someone I know that is more familiar with computers to show me how. The thing that's bugging me the most is im sure it's just somthing stupid that im missing lol.

Maybe we'll get lucky this year, and see some #77 Jacks in 440C and jigged bone. I'd be on those like lightning.

Make me a three blade #66 Calf Roper in 440C and I'm dancin' in the streets.

stainless Beer/Soda Scout

I'd be up for those as well. The clip blade and caplifter variation of the #15 (don't remember the name... maybe radio knife) would also be great. And they've already made the #15 clip blades in 440C. Either the 3-blade 66 or 68 would be fine for me. They're both so similar.

Just checked the tracking on mine and it's landed in Metro New York for the night. I'm guessing ill have mine by the middle of next week as long as there's no hick-up's at the border witch knock on wood I'm 6-0 for that lol:D

I got my #74 Mustang in American Chestnut yesterday, carried it today and took a photo. I love the handle shape, the size, literally everything about the knife except for that blade stamp. I wish it wasn't there.

You can buff it off pretty easily.

Jamie thanks, I'm well pleased with it.

Concerning the stainless etch, I agree, not too keen on the look of it frankly- Much preferred the squirrels & their acorns. They etch the stuff on stainless very differently and as JFowl notes, it's not easy to get off and repolish.

I was a little bummed that I missed out on the TC Lick Creek but after seeing this I'm glad I am on the list for one of these.
