Maybe they ran out of cool names that sounded all outdoorsy?

"Hey, that's a cool new knife you have there, what it's called?"
"Steve"
"Aww, how cute that you give your knives names like that. But seriously what's it called?"
"Steve!"
"Look, funny guy. The manufacturer gave it a name. Something like 'Rocky Mountain Jack' or 'Deerskinner Trapper'. So what is it?"
"Steve!!!"
...and then the fight breaks out.
