Lets talk GEC!

Should be here either Friday or Saturday, can't wait!

Also, I'm in a bad way... I just signed up for the #74 Mustang in Yellow Rose, and the Beer Scout in Golden Ale Jig Bone (did it last night, it is locked today)... Oi... On the plus side that is three new (GEC) knives to look forward to (in addition to the ZT0900 I traded for that should arrive soon), but that pretty much kills my knife budget for the month unless I do some more dealing (guess that Benchmade 908BK-1501 will have to wait a bit longer...).

And so it begins... :). I'm glad you saw the 74s that are coming out soon. I have one of the 440C drop point versions that came out this summer. I like it a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing what the 1095 clip points are like.

I don't know about anybody else but I'm going Bat carp crazy looking at that one lone picture of the Box of Barlow Bolsters on the GEC Website.

Being from Texas I figured the Yellow Rose Mustang was a must. ;)

I didn't see the Barlow early reserve on CK before it got locked down. :(

The #72 should arrive today, and this should arrive later this month...

That's a great looking one, Pt-Luso, that bone looks awesome.

You have great taste WhiteShampoo : I also just paid for my Beer Scout in Golden Ale Bone and I also have a Reserve on a 74 Yellow Rose plus you have a 72 in Grizzly Jigged Bone coming as well. ALL of them IMHO are fine choices.

The grizzly jigged bone is really nice, I keep taking it out of my pocket to look at it, my wife thinks I'm crazy, but that's not new.

Good job, we can't let our wives get too comfortable. My wife has grown used to me watching TV with a GEC on the end table and a shotgun on my lap, the poor thing.

My trio. Very happy with all, although I've really only had a chance to use Navy so far. Navy is proving to be very adept at breaking down cardboard boxes.

72 just got here today. Ignore his unfinished paracord fob. I'm about to do it over with the bead at the end to see if I like that better.

Quick question: Is there any way to even out the color tone on spring green barlow? One side has more of the light green on the corners near the bolster. Can the darker side be carefully buffed or sanded somehow to bring out more of the light green? I don't want to risk messing it up so if there's no way to do so safely, I'm totally cool with it the way it is. But I figured if there is a way, folks here would know. :)

Looks great. Makes me think I might have to take a look at one of those. Hmm...

That's really funny. I have to admit to doing much the same thing. I sort of set out which knives I'm going to play with before sitting down to watching a football game or something. It's bad.

Just start carrying it and it will start buffing off the darker edges . At least my Old Red did.

That's one way, but it might take a little time. If you want more immediate results, you could use a loaded polishing drum on a dremel. GEC's jig bone ages beautifully as the outer dye slowly wears off. That spring green will reveal a beautiful green over time.

Great choices all around but I think the bone on that Navy is my favorite of those.

Edited to add: DO NOT SAND YOUR KNIFE! That's a quick way to loosen up those pins and pretty much wreck it. If you want to change out the covers, have one of the experienced modders around these parts do it for you.
