Lets talk GEC!

@Coyja, Good for you. I bet they will go fast! I am very impressed with the fit and finish, and the dark linen micarta is sharp. They look like they can be used hard, but at the same time they seem classy.
In my opinion, they look better in real life than they do in photographs. I cannot wait to see yours.

Yes, there's really decent looking Stag on many of them. I still miss the shield from Stags so I won't buy.

However, I like the look of the single-blade Feasant Pheathers:D going to try and get one of them:thumbsup:

Wow, pictures of the stag 2 blade 56s are on their website. Long match striker pull! And the stag coming out of GEC lately :eek::)
Agree, the stag looks even better than usual.
I am on the fence for the Mardi Gras. Wonder what the Orlean’s shield will look like. I thougt it could be a fun one.

Hi All,

I've been reading this thread for months now, but have never posted. I just want to say thank you for all the great info and enthusiasm regarding GECs. I've managed to obtain a few during the past few years and have been very excited about the recent releases like the 66s and 78s and now awaiting the 71 BN.

Welcome. Join in the fun! Throw us some pictures of your current knives and we will be thrilled.

The Orleans shield is very attractive, think that's what I have on a 66 Slim in Grey Pearl acrylic.

But what does Mardi Gras acrylic look like? Could be garish? I'd like a return to old church stained glass type of thing or even Dead Skunk:cool:

Here is the Mardi Gras acrylic. I'll let you be the judge of garish.

I actually don't mind it, and think the Orleans shield will improve the overall appearance. Whether or not that's enough to warrant $80+ from me has yet to be seen.

The problem I have with it is that it reminds me of Christmas candy, and that's still 11 months away.

I like that Bomb Shield.
And I agree.....the dead skunk acrylic was nice and the Strawberry Sundae had a good look as well.
Here is my 33 Strawberry Sundae with hotdog shield. Very similar to the dead skunk acrylic. A little less white.

I like the Tomato and Dead Skunk Acrylic. One of them on a 77 would look cool.
GEC made some Tortoise Shell Acrylic with the red veins. I'd like to see those in the future also.

I like that dog paw, is that a conductor?

Yes , that is a conductor pattern. It was a plazacutlery exclusive. They are out of business now. Some great members of The Porch told me about it and I was able to get the last one.

What happened to that hotdog shield?

Crazy how that happens lol. Great looking knife!
Thank you!
It amazes me at the quality of pictures that so many forum members take. It is not easy getting a picture without glare or reflections on knives.
One of these days I will get it figured out.:D
