Lets talk GEC!

Thank you! Comparison shots are always good.
It looks very close to a Bullnose blade with a little smaller handle. Does that seem right? Is the handle about the same thickness?

Yes, but also a slightly shorter blade. Hard to tell in that picture because of the angle, but between 1/16" and 1/8" shorter blade.

Yep, the blade is about 1/8" shorter. The handle is slightly shorter, as well, and is slimmer than the Micarta Bull Nose handle.

Mind you, the scales on the H20 are nice and thick, the slabs offer a comfortable grip, proportions are good.

Could somebody please post a picture of Goldenrod Jigged Bone please?:) It's the coming option for the Tidioute 44 Gunstock but I can't recall what it looks like.

Thanks, Will

Thanks very much! Still thinking about it on the new Gunstock, a darker bone might work better, or Osage I'd prefer over Ebony.

Sorry, Will, you had asked before if the #25 in my photo was Goldenrod jigged bone and I failed to address your question! Yes, it is. I like it on the #25 Barlow, but I also have a #92 in Goldenrod like the one shown above, and I don't find the color or jigging nearly as interesting. Here's a closer shot of my Goldenrod #25 Barlow:

And here's my #92 in Goldenrod:

I agree that the thickness of the scales on the H20 is proportionally appropriate. Just noting for anyone who doesn't have one but may have a Bull Nose for reference that they are smaller/thinner than the #71 in the same handle material.

I'm not sure about the #44. I'm hoping it's one of those that is available on dealer's shelves for at least a few weeks, so I can admire those posted here when folks first get them and then make my decision. :D

Thanks Barrett, yes there seems to be a lot of differences between the two typeso_O The 25's looks good but not so struck on the 92's (grand pattern mind) Think I won't reserve, I'll risk it as the Gunstock is not a fave of mine anyway...

I haven't heard of a #44 SFO. Here's the latest production schedule. Note #15 SFOs, including a barlow! Maybe this is the ancient spear described in the Good, Traditional Barlow thread here, although Charlie did say it would be a while, but running the 15s at the same time makes sense. Note also a Campagna Boy's Knife SFO with clip blade and bail and chain, and the Maher and Grosh SFO that will have a bail and chain, and will come in single and double blades.

Love the #15 N. Gunstock...typo. I looked twice - did you?

I will be getting the N. #44 brass.

Are the #15 SFO C.C going to be TCs?

I see some No15 Clip points as well which i dont think we had seen before?

I saw that typo ;) There will be clip point+bail/chain Boy's Knife and modified (I think ancient) spear TC Barlow Campagna SFOs. We hadn't seen his SFOs mentioned before today.

I was looking at the No 15 Tidioutes with a click, red and black linen micarta, maybe I had just missed it.

Seems like an easy one to do a high run of so there are some in stock, might have to get one of these.

Edit: How can I join the Allegheny Mountain club? I live relatively in that area and would like to participate in a club, but when I joined their email list I just got weird spam....

Chris emailed today (not long after I posted the below) letting me know that my #38 was finished and shipping to me today. I hated to answer good news with more issues, but I let her know about the below described crack in my #56 with an attached picture and she replied within minutes saying to send it in for repair. Great service as per usual

Still not sure on acrylic as a handle material. Gonna take a look at my others tonight.

That is definitely true. I've had Bill himself make quick adjustments on one or two of mine. They're happy to help if you visit the factory outside the Rendezvous it seems also.

I just took out my unused and uncarried Mardi Gras #56 because I was going to get it ready to ship and it has a crack extending from both of the upper arms of the shield. Guess I'm not selling this one, even at my already discounted price :(

Anyway, this has only been out of the tube for pictures and to look over. Never in a pocket, never carried, never used.

I guess I should call and tell them about it and try to get it fixed but my #38 Special in LVS Abalone has been there for over a month because the acrylic started to bubble and I thought it just need a quick sanding and polishing so idk. Maybe another beater like my store model #25 unicorn acrylic that started to pull apart. I think I might be better off not buying acrylic, idk. I have a #22 Magnum in looking glass acrylic that one of the covers has pulled up and left space between the liner and cover, and my #65 in Black gold acrylic has gaps between the covers and the bolsters. I'll take pictures of all these tonight. I'll probably start a thread.

What do you all think?

Lots of cool stuff coming out! I gotta get whaler in muscle bone to go with my Lumberjack in muscle bone. Have a #77 elderberry reserved, looking forward to that. Would really like to get a #44 in brass hardware and wood covers and a TC, but that's gonna be a budget stretch! o_O

I thought so and thanks for responding. I don’t keep up with everything the way I used to do.

Please, say Ancient @waynorth :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

And no stainless versions so far this year...maybe we'll have to endure a two year hiatus of the GEC line. I'm still hoping for a stainless 15 beer scout / cap lifter.
