This became my "most often carried" knife in February. I just haven't had the opportunity to take a photo in sunlight until today...
I thought the Churchills would make a perfect user (and I do prefer the blades over the #79 a little) but I really prefer the sleeveboard pattern. I already had an ebony NF, but it's too fancy for me to rough up. I put it out there that I longed for the Blue Jigged Tidioute version, but pretty much gave up on it.
Then came along @Methuselah who talked toNJBillK who ultimately found @paulhilborn who was very generous in making his available to me. Thank you very much!
It has been in my pocket probably 80% of the time since then, and has been serving me very well. I'd love to see another run of these, although I won't be replacing this one.

Nope, that is a #79 workhorse. Measures about 3.75" closed, single spring, and awesome.
Glad to see it getting some pocket time. I hope it is serving you well. This became my "most often carried" knife in February. I just haven't had the opportunity to take a photo in sunlight until today...

I like clips over spears too, and really prefer the Churchill's larger sheepfoot, but the 79's sheepfoot is certainly functional, and the spear actually works for me on this one. Something I can't say about all spear bladed knives - aesthetically speaking.Sabercat
If I had one, and I could cut a nail nick, this is the mod I would do to it...

It is nice as it stands, but I love a clip...
I would also like more Stainless from GEC. My most carried knife is a Elk SS #74 Mustang.

But I am also excited for Charlie's run of Ancient TCs.

Personally, I'm tired of the 15 pattern. It's been made every year for the past 6 years. I guess it has become GEC's bell cow, but it's leading me to disinterest in the pattern.
It's been 8 years since we've seen

7 years since we've seen these:

5 years since the 33 Whittler

It's time to see these again... sooner rather than later. I'm hopeful.![]()

My "user" Elk 89. The only GEC I have two of in same model/handle material. I also have a red jigged one as well.
I would love to see more of these. Both Bill and William Jr have expressed to me how much they love the #89. Bill mentioned that they didn't sell as well as he would have liked so he wasn't sure when another run would happen. I suggested that a lot has changed since 2012, and perhaps they would do better now. Here's hoping...
I feel like a forums old timer saying this (I’m not) but a year or two ago we started asking GEC to make some more stainless, and to stop eccentric patterns and produce some of their most popular choices for those who missed out. We got some stainless 15s, the 48s, 73s, another run of beerscouts and a massive run of TC barlows (other popular stuff as well). Useful to keep in mind that GEC takes notice, but also that the big runs were due to customer requests.
I want one of these.Pretty please

Anybody recall a specific thread for the ancient TC's? I've tried searching and didn't come up with anything... Thank you.
