Lets talk GEC!

Just had to send my ancient TC to get some work done....the centering went wacky on me and progressively got worse. It was almost touching the liner! It also started to develop some blade play :(... with that said what is the usual wait time? know the 4th is coming up too.

I am excited about these new gunstocks in production! Can't wait to see the Northfield line with the all brass bolsters. Has GEC ran all brass bolsters on a knife before?

Did it occur to you that the knife being an ancient made with an exposed bolster pin and with other features that were ancient that the blade would not necessarily be centered and that perhaps with the bolster pin as it is that there might be just a touch of blade play. To my mind, that's what ancient is.

EDITED TO ADD: That came off a bit snarky. Didn't mean it that way. It's just that I think that a knife made as an ancient wouldn't be a perfect knife as to blade centering, blade play, and mar free covers.

Totally, but it got really sloppy. Just cutting some limes and some other light cutting. It got bad enough that when the blade was closed I could hear the blade hit the liners...I also could feel the blade itself wiggle or moving side to side in the bolsters. I don't think that's what GEC had in mind when producing the knife. If GEC feels this is ok through QC and send the knife back to me no harm no foul in checking to see if this can be adjusted, right? Not one of my GEC knives I have owned had these problems. So naturally I thought this was an issue.

I made and edit to my post as you were posting. No harm, no foul on sending it back. Perhaps they can correct your issues to your liking.

Production schedule update!

If you like 14s, it's hog heaven!

ETA: If someone knows who is doing the "Cripple Creek" SFO, please shoot me a PM. Thanks! :)

Wow, so many options and so many exciting ones!

I already have one I know I'm getting, but man there are so many other cool sounding ones to resist!

Have they done smooth green bone before?

I have a feeling the Rendezvous knife is going to be a stainless #14..... But that might just be wishful thinking ;)

I'm really only interested in the 2 blade models, hence my Cripple Creek question (I thought they were out of business?).

But yeah, so many options! Especially if you like single blades.

Like LR said, the Northfield option is especially intriguing to me!

Holy moley but that's a lot of variety. Looks like I'll be breaking down DLT's doors for a few of their exclusives.

You have to click the tab that reads "Production Schedule Update" and no, not according to the schedule.

Thanks. I had to search for "update" to find it. Now that I know where to look it will be easy next time. :)
Looks like I'll be saving lots of money. How annoying.

That time of year I'll be particularly poverty stricken:eek:
So all donations gratefully received!:D:thumbsup:

But my selections would be as follows:

Cobblestone Bone- only done that once before and it looked choice
Dead Skunk rises from the road again!
Smooth Yellow with Diamond shield, can't go wrong.
Lyle's Smooth White with Bar- to match my Farmer's Jack in the same clothes:thumbsup:

Great that brass is excluded, be nice to see how the Clip looks on this small knife.

Regards, Will

You did the right thing sending it in.
I'm still not sure how I feel about artificially aging a knife to make it look old. Not much precedent for that, traditionally, I think.
One thing I do know, 'Ancient' doesn't mean 'sloppy'.

That is a lot of unique choices. I love it.

What I really notice is no KSF SFO...listed.

...and the gem of the update: C. C. Barlow SFO

Sweet.

I'm interested in the JSR Sports SFO in cobblestone jigged bone. What was a previous pattern with cobblestone jigged bone?
