Lets talk GEC!

I posted this video here before. I'm sure no one will mind and many haven't seen it. Bill's son Will talks about some processes being a secret. He mentions they are one of the last companies to do all their own bone work in house. He talks about the hand made operations as well. It makes total sense to keep this a secret. I agree with Bill 100% . I always pictured him back there like a mad scientist working on the jigging.

Great video. Interesting point Will made that they don't sell in brick n mortar stores because of price point, only sell online.
A bit of an irony. Making 100 year old recreations, but selling them in modern fashion.
No doubt the internet has helped them succeed.

Thanks for the video Shock, very interesting. Would have been great if they were within the facility and seeing the operation in process.

Yep! On Blu-Ray with bonus features. :D

I'm sure Bill wants to preserve some of his trade secrets and the jigging process is likely one of them. You probabaly won't see photos of them installing shields either.
I would love to see a "How Its Made: GEC" though :)

No problem. I’ve watched it twice now, lol. I think the interviewer did a good job with his questions. It was very interesting to listen to that’s for sure.

The Apostle P also posted a video series on his YouTube channel on how GEC makes a knife. Bill’s son takes him on a tour and when the get to the jigging room they aren’t allowed in. So GEC definitely keeps the dying and jigging process a secret.

The coke bottle in the photo represents the #06 Pemberton :) Due in March 2019. And here I thought 2019 was going to go easy on my wallet. I need to get prepared for this (please be a clip blade).
Also coming are the Mudbug and the Bull Buster (as mentioned before).
Pembertons (due in March), 97s (February) and Bull Busters (January) just went up for reserves :)

Same here.

Also, why can’t GEC be a little adventurous in handle materials? The existing options have just become a roulette wheel.

Yeah... I may have went alittle overboard and commited to like 6 it 7 of the Pembertons

The 2 bladed smooth white seems to be the hot item, and I got one! Should compliment Lyle's 2 balded #14 very well.

And I'm going to go ahead and guess that yellow rose #97 will end up being highly sought after.

The two blade and single blade Stag and white bone went fast glad I checked my phone.

I can tell you that I am genuinely excited for this Pemberton run and have several reserved...but I have to agree with you on the materials. I can do without all the micartas lately and was really hoping to see some acrylics. Perhaps there will be a few SFOs to spice things up. Just being picky though. The smooth white bone is going to look great in that pattern.

I guess we did have the recent 85s - but my thirst for different scales is unsatiated. I am just invested in the odd and unique patterns and I like acquiring a collection that is visually diverse and interesting
