Lets talk GEC!

Nice looking knife, but too small. :)
You like the bigger ones eh? Yeah not feeling the #97 either. It is too big for my tastes...too bad because I really like the coke bottle pattern and clip point blades. But the #29 and #86 have my attention. I am curious to see what materials they select for those two.

My OFFICIAL guess:

Cocobolo Possum Skinner  :D  :p

My guess is that after the 'Possum Skinners, they are going to do a short run of 71s (that is the bullnose blade etch design afterall) to keep us occupied while they work out the kinks in the 97, since it's a brand new pattern. I'm sure their are some growing pains in spitting out a newly designed slipjoint, especially that size.

Kinda tongue in cheek, kinda serious. After much trial and error, I've settled on 4" as the perfect size for me. I'll go a quarter inch in either direction. Bigger and smaller knives just don't end up in my pocket often enough. For EDC, anyway. I'll pocket carry one of a couple of 110 variants in the woods when I'm not in the mood for a fixed blade and I'll clip a modern inside my running shorts when I go running. 4 1/2" turned out to be ideal for a modern. I think it's the weight that gets me with a 4.5" traditional. Anyway, the artificial boundary helps keep the avalanche of new knives to something manageable. Lord knows I need help. ;)

The coke bottle in the photo represents the #06 Pemberton :) Due in March 2019. And here I thought 2019 was going to go easy on my wallet. I need to get prepared for this (please be a clip blade).
Also coming are the Mudbug and the Bull Buster (as mentioned before).

Darren,

Are you saying a #06 Pemberton is in the near future?

Yes sir...in March :) I don't know what blades or materials though. They offered several acrylics last run and clip points I am hoping for something similar. They are very small but, much like the 14's, appeal to me greatly.

Wow, a run of #06 Pembertons in March 2019?!?!?!?

I’ve always liked the looks of this pattern. I may have to try for when they come up.

Doesn't the Coke bottle represent the up coming 97? What am I missing?
Where did you hear of an 06 Pemberton?

Where is this info on the Pemberton coming from?
A friend in a FB knife group confirmed with GEC (phone call).
I can't say with 100% certainty, and it seems odd to leak the info early, but the information is coming from a credible source.

I'd be cool with a run of Pembertons. Make 'em with a skinny spear and a coping secondary, with a Northfield Cocobolo with satin blades and a Tidioute in some handsome acrylic.

I find the process fascinating but last I looked, there isn’t much on youtube or the internet generally. I just love irregular rodgers style bone and have often wondered how it is acheived.

As soon as someone has an 82 in hand, I'ld like to know how heavy the pulls are. I've seen a few already up on Ebay, so that must mean there are some out there.

Bill will not show anyone the jigging process, no pictures and not part of the factory tour. Unfortunately.
