I saw some old photos too. It looks like there is a small hole in the end pointed bolster. A lanyard hole? Looks small. Did you notice this on the 85s that people are referencing?I call shenanigans. I just saw it too it has the same shield as one you can find that was sold through knives ship free several years ago. How often does GEC repeat the same knife with the same shield with the same handle material, same matchstrike pull? I think it’s some photoshop tomfoolery, not that it makes a difference what I think.
No the lanyard hole was not there. The one from knives ship free was also bark ivory, though I’m sure they sold some interior ivory ones as well. I personally think it was a photo that was changed in photoshop. The same person that posted it, posted 4 other ones where the photo was far more clear than in the supposed ivory one. I just don’t think it is a real photo of a real knife. If it is though, and someone got 6 of them then we should see them up for sale at some point soon and we can all fight over them.I saw some old photos too. I wouldn’t bet anything, on anything, I’ve seen on social media.I wouldn’t put money on that. I’ve seen them on social media...

$hits and giggles is all the motivation many people need. What I don’t see, is the motivation for a thriving company who’s products usually are sellouts to produce and sell whether to buddies/ inner circle or not, anything that is questionable from a legal standpoint or to even produce it and give it away.I just don’t see where the motivation is. I think GEC put 8 of these together as parts knives, and sold them to some of their buddies/inner circle. I wish I had a shot at one, but them’s the breaks.

Edit: also don’t a lot of people do a lot of things just to get likes on instagram?
A lot of peoples' lives are on Instagram
Well, I'm happy with my nondescript run of the mill Ivory BONE 85
Actually, I think Ivory/White Bone is one of GEC's best, too bad they don't do it in Saw Bone or Scratted, that would be enormously likeable (not in the Instagram like sense either)

Thanks Colin, it works well and the lock tab does not iinterefere with handling.
Not sure. I just did a google search and some KSF photos of this popped up.Like the one made in 2013?
Yeah I don't understand what the big hullabaloo is about. We've seen them. They've been bought, sold, gifted, ogled, and shown off. They're as real as real gets. The guy who posted it is a pretty well established guy in the community. There are no winners in an internet argument though, so I’ll just agree to disagree.
It goes with ivory as with police officers, some enforce a law they don't know (or understand) completely...Yeah I don't understand what the big hullabaloo is about. We've seen them. They've been bought, sold, gifted, ogled, and shown off. They're as real as real gets.
And I also dont understand what folks are freaking out about with the ivory. As my understanding goes, long as it was harvested legally and imported before 1990, sold in state (they were sold at the factory,) and under 200gr (.45lbs) it is completely legal. Its almost comical that folks legitimately think GEC would risk their business and reputation to make a handful of knives. If it wasn't legal beyond a shadow of a doubt, they sure as heck wouldn't be doing it. They've got this guys.

I bought this one off the KSF site a couple years back. Pretty knife. But, unfortunately, it's no longer in the fold.
