Lets talk GEC!

NIT bull buster. Hope this is a fluke as I have an od green coming as well. Phone pic is all I can do right now but I have no clue how this made it through
I have had a handful of GECs that I have sent back with the exact same horizontal scratch or scratches. They were higher end knives but I have had Farm and Field that I just kept since they were inexpensive users. GEC buffed them out without any issues . I think they must do one more wipe down with a microfiber cloth after final inspection because they were obvious scratches.

I have an 85 salmon that the pivot pin that can be seen on the bolster. It’s a user so no need to fret but just curious. Can they buff that out too?

Yup gonna be a user 100%. Just shocked at the length and depth of the scratch out of the tube. There are 2 others that run the length of the blade not shown in that photo. Would be a sad day if this happened on anything but a sodbuster

I remembered which knife it was I'd seen this on. It was this Beaver Tail #43 made last year. It's interesting, I don't think there's any way this scratch was made from someone wiping the blade. It's perfectly straight, and on mine it runs the entire length of the blade, from the tang to the edge. I wonder what could cause it.

Yeah looking at it, it is pretty much a straight line.

How is the pull compared to any of the recent knives?

Compared to the last 71 bull nose run they’re quite a bit lighter. Slightly heavier than the 82s but that is 1/2 stop versus no 1/2 stop so don’t know if it’s fair. The closing from 1/2 stop on down is sluggish but I haven’t been home to flush it. I think people are gonna like the pulls.

They did make a grand total of 8 of these in 2014 with leftover 2011 parts.

Making a F&F version should be possible...

I remember seeing those at the Rendezvous. They did some 78s in sunbrite also right? Or 77s?

Yep. They've done it for me.

You can easily do that. Either with some flits and a buffing wheel on a dremel, or they sell buffing wheels/headlight detail kids that fit into any drill. Lowe's or Harbor Freight. Save yourself the wait for shipping/labor/return.

I want one of those - he/he can keep my knife collection spick and span.

I may have just been missing it since November, but I think Its super neat the Tidioute #97s seem to be at least planed with a long pull. I'm real excited about that.. Also anticipating the final decision on what the TBD jigged bone will be. Autumn leaf would look great, as would chestnut. Something brown/orange/yellowish.
