Lets talk GEC!

Yahoo!! I've been waiting on the #62 ever since I fist set eyes on the pattern back in 2015 when I stumbled upon this magical place of all things sharp & pointy and traditional of course lol:D

I am really hoping for a large run of 77s next year. The Barlows are nice but I would really like to see a big run of regular jacks - barehead, with interesting cover options, with either a clip or spear main and a coping secondary.

Since I've been a member here and been privy to the game, GEC has not done a run of 77s outside of the Barlows. I'd like to see that change.

I've used this one before... but still applies.

Totally. What I would give for a barehead 77...a big Boys knife, if you will.

Normally I just like the tidioutte trim better but I've always like the banana shield knives and never been willing to pony up the money for one on the secondary market, so I will definitely be looking to purchase one from this run

It's an acrylic, one that they have had issues with before. Definitely surprised to see it make another appearance.
Surprised they are using again. Remember how much trouble they had with last run or the 25 barlow? Substantial number of them had hairline cracks and did not make it. I bought a few of them as "s" in '17.

I'm curious if they found a more stable version of it.

Another thought too - Since GEC has gotten into the habit of using brushed hardware and shields on materials that they have had problems with in the finishing processes, I wonder if we might end up with an acrylic with brushed bolsters and shield...

I talked with Bill today and he mentioned that the #25s were bare end and two hammered springs had to go through the acrylic whereas the #62s have two bolsters and only one pin.

Just what he said when I mentioned the trouble with using the unicorn Ivory Acrylic last time.

That certainly makes sense. Hopefully they get better results this go around.
