Lets talk GEC!

thank you, GT! It’s as if nothing happened and now he’s got 5 tangled balloons to kick around. Net gain :D:D

the “let me borrow one of your knives” resonates With me. Before finding “the porch”, I was convinced my wife was right and my love of filling pockets with edges was weird.

... I also keep a SAK to loan :D if someone destroys the edge it’s not as big of a deal.
I don't "loan" knives. I might say: "What do you want me to cut for you?";)

Yup. When someone wants to borrow a knife my first question is "sure, whatchya cuttin'?" And if it's something relatively benign I'll hand them my nice carry ( maybe part of me is a show off) and if it's something abusive I usually have a beater to hand them.

I've had a beard since 1984 and never felt the need for a beard comb. I do run my hair brush through it once upon exiting the shower, but other than that its on its own. I generally haven't let it get real bushy. I had an uncle who would let his beard grow down to his chest. He could have used a beard comb ;)

OTOH I don't find it offensive either o_O

"Beard Scout" is way better than "Beer & Sausage" :D

I want a 35 with a punch so I can poke stuff :p

I don't think it's a fork, if it's sausage directed it should be a PRONG

Not bad for puncturing stuff either ;):D

Reality check: GEC knife that's sublime and devoid of gimmickery :)

Just when you think 2020 couldn't get any weirder and then this happens.

But then again, remember that #35 family has some weird members already. (Looking at you, Calf pen.)
Perhaps it has been decided that #35 would become GEC's experimental pattern. And IMO it lends itself to it nicely: not too big, not too small, equal end, symmetric. I'd recon it must be less complicated to throw bunch of random implements on it.

The upcoming M&G 35 in Ebony evens things out a bit for me... Takes away the unsettling feeling of the sausage knife :)
That will be a sweet knife! Do you have good/reliable info that's coming?

"Can I borrow a wrench?"
"Sure, what size?"
"Doesn't matter, I'm using it as a hammer...."

they posted some GORGEOUS #33's!
that's going to be hard to turn down...

Unless of course this Maher Und Grosh offering is impressive... haha.
Anyone got a picture of what the M&G offering is?!

Edit: also, can we get some photos of #33's from the past to really spur my urge to buy?

Hello...not sure if this has been suggested regarding things to Ponder. Blind Horse Knives had one called Massasauga...a spear point. The partners of Blind Horse separated and one went on to form Battle Horse Knives. Could there be an upcoming collaboration?

Where do you see that? I thought SFOs were suspended?

There's a few SFO's that were in the works prior to the official notification from GEC discontinuing SFO's. Rumor has it that maybe we might see one more Northwoods - maybe on the 33, or 35? - who knows...

Yes, for sure.... For sure as anybody can be with GEC. It's on the non posted production schedule. I never really count on anything from GEC until it's in my hand. They change things up a fair amount.
