Let's talk Northwoods

This is one of the few recent Northwoods that I’m actually looking forward to.
I’m probably in a the minority who think this way, but this is the first GEC made Northwoods folder that looks appropriate with that dramatic Sabre grind.
It seem like a perfect marriage of a normally too large folder frame, and generally too thick folder grind, to make what appears to be an incredibly useful knife.

I've been wanting a Northwoods for awhile now, and I absolutely love desert ironwood... But sheesh, the #23 is huge! At roughly the size of a Buck 110, I fear it will be too big for me to use/carry on a regular basis. I'll have to think on this some more tonight. I'd hate to take one away from someone who would use the heck out of it.

Those covers look amazing, lately I’ve been more willing than ever to carry and use what I buy, thinking its a bit too large to be an EDC for me.

DF815862-BEF3-4591-9E92-16F4BA1791ED.jpegI cut my teeth back in 1970s carrying a Buck 110 in their standard belt sheath…the 23 is close to same size and when I was trying to figure out how to carry I sat down with my dad and we came up with this, a pocket slip that hangs from belt. It works great even with this monster two blade trapper. Now thinking about chasing one of these Northwoods!

They look very appealing. I have never had a Northwood. I tried on the last drop but wasn’t fast enough. tried to purchase several covers but every time I got to the checkout and it was gone. This time I will be at work and may not have a chance. Maybe I can break away for a little time.

Desert Ironwood and Blue Camel.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that the CK SFO in mesquite?

Not a big fan of blue camel bone, was really hope they would drop some mams.

Ugh. I wanted some of the stragglers they listed.
Just like being a red/bengals fan: better luck next year
