Let's talk Northwoods

Cool handle pattern on that scagle. Almost looks like the new Lionsteel roundhead took some styling cues from this one, with a modern twist of course. But the length, bolster and blade shapes all look to be similar.

I hope this is Northwoods related enough but did anyone notice the new coin that comes with the Little Bay? It looks a bit different. Not a model that I am familiar with. The first one was the Presidential but this new one is an interesting single blade. Can anyone identify it?

Derrick said it was a planned friction folder with a manufacturer other than GEC (obviously) but that he didn't think it would come to fruition.

I was pretty excited to get these so I found the mailman on my lunch break about 2 1/2 hours before he got to my house.

Until now my favorite #25 variant has always been the single blade Sheepsfoot with the Easy Open notch. I'll have to wait until the honeymoon is over to know for sure but I may have found a new favorite in the 25 frame. These are both fantastic.

The single blade with the eo notch is utilitarian Rick. The denim and red micarta are high-tech sports cars. The denim and burlap are my favorites from this run. Enjoy.

You may be onto something there, Alan. I might end up with a Burlap Little Bay one of these days.

That is a very interesting Northwoods. Do you know who made it? I'm completely unfamiliar with that pattern.

Rick, I checked with the original owner and he told me Queen but not definitively. It's a really neat little lockback in a cover I couldn't justify paying for if it was a larger pattern. It's got a small stabilized crack on the pile side by the pivot pin and the closing is lazy like the newer 66's. It's different and it's small, I like it. It's very sharp in D2 and for what it will be used for it probably will never be sharpened again.
