Let's talk Northwoods

the discussion forums are for discussing knives, NOT the purchasing of them.

There are threads on the purchasing process in the Feedback:GBU forum. I seem to remember there being one that was Northwoods specific.

Gotcha. Thanks
You're quite welcome! If you get the ball rolling over there, I'm sure others will chime in. These drops always get folks stirred up.

ETA: I bumped that thread up over there for ya, kaput.

Cool little knife. I wish the arrowhead was more centered though.

I wonder if the 25 bolster has too small a flat surface area to strike a clean stamp. I took a look at the UN-X-LD stamp and it appears to be not centered either. i would think Derrick put a lot of thought into the size and placement and what we have is the best compromise.

Another possibility is he intentionally wanted the arrowhead stamp on these to approximate the original Northwoods bullet jacks, both in size and location.

It's fun to speculate, but I would be great if Derrick would stop buy and explain why/how he made those design decisions.

I like the offset placement, I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't Bill's call .

They are on the small size Bill. I have pretty large hands (palmed a basketball in my younger days) and find that the 25's are usually all I need especially as a good old fashioned "pocketknife." If you pair it with a larger knife they make a great combo. I don't know if you have one or not but if you get a chance, give it a try. Worse case scenario, they'll be another one on the exchange.

All of the hubbub recently led me to grab my only other Northwoods this morning - the knife that got me into traditionals!
