I can't speak to the micarta, however the cocobolo is a beautiful beast of a knife. It's a dressed up sodbuster.

Great pattern that reminded me of the jumbo trappers produced by Case Classics in 90s. The Madison is what led me down the rabbit hole on Northwoods, and the micarta is excellent. I love the dark red on this Madison

Not really....The blade is 3.375". Its only a bit larger than a Case 54 trapper.

Looks like it dwarfs the Case #54 Trapper, and the #54 is called the "Large Trapper"... that Northwoods is a BIG knife.

The Madison is really not that much bigger than the 54......

I had to get home and snap some pics before sun sets. Madison is same size as the #43 Oregon Trapper at 4.25 inches just like the Madison’s spec’s noted on KSF but when I set them side by side, the Madison is a little longer.

Red linen micarta are by far the best covers on Northwoods knives, just saying. Nice Madison Barlow
