Let's talk Northwoods

I am really liking my PB micarta Fremont. Not really a complaint, but I wish they used the same slip for the Fremont as they did the Indian River Jack.

The guys from KSF said that the material was such a pain to work with that they will never use it again. Too bad because it’s very unique and has a nice textured feel to it.
 
Got lucky and got a peanut butter Fremont. First of this pattern for me. I really like the Northwoods blade style and shield and I prefer a Wharncliffe / sheepsfoot to a clip blade. Not much to complain about, small gap on back between spring and liner on one side. It may close up with a flush, we’ll see. Wouldn’t mention it at all in another brand. Otherwise great fit and finish, centered and action is good, could be a touch stronger for my taste but that’s subjective.

There’s three versions of the Northwoods coins, mrknife mrknife The common copper version that comes with knives, the silver that was sold separately and a handful of these in brass that were apparently made by “mistake”. I was told that five were made in brass.IMG_7453.jpeg
