Let's talk Northwoods

Excuse my ignorance about Northwoods, but can anyone tell me when, and who, made this large (5 1/8") Toothpick for Northwoods???View attachment 3084888
I may have asked before, but I cannot remember!!
Charlie -- I am but a grasshopper, but I believe the Gladstone, Michigan stamp on the tang definitively dates this one to the 2004-2009 Dave Shirley era (the box is consistent with this date range, as well). As for the manufacturer, I would be inclined to think Queen, but that is just an educated guess. Please forgive me if I am stating the obvious on any of this. :)

Nice knife, BTW! 👍

Thanks for the info, Jim!!! If anyone can corroborate Jim's educated guess . . . . . . . .??
And, I like it also!!

Looks like a Queen to me. “Read the knife.” 🙂 I wouldn’t bet on it being D2. Queen marked D2 knives with a P since it was heat treated by Peters and considered a premium steel. Shirley was cagey about specifics concerning knife construction. Queen’s D2 had a patina that was different than their 1095, more uniform and lighter than 1095.

I just received my first northwoods and am now hooked, there is a gentleman i believe from Arizona with a u tube video of his vast northwoods collection and any northwoods fan would enjoy watching it.

Thanks for that info. I’m pretty sure I’ve not come across that video. I’ll give it a search.

I was planning to keep this to myself, but I've ordered two of these now, so I feel safe in letting the community know. 😂 The best deal for a GEC knife IMHO right now NEW is the Remington Silver Bullet. It's a 42 pattern! I own a Sambar Stag 83 pattern and ordered the Remington Silver Bullet and thought it would be an 83, but when I opened it I jumped up and down and realized it's the 42! Genuine Sterling Silver Bullet shield, with burnt brown jigged BONE handles. The bolster and blade are not polished like my Northfield 83, but for the price, I bought another one once I opened and saw this knife.
