Let's talk Northwoods

Fox, try a 35 Churchill, this pattern has really been doing it for me. And congrats on the score!

Thanks Kiteman72! My wife bought me a hummingbird 35 for Christmas but I don’t get it until Christmas. I picked it, but she wants to wrap it. So I get to play with the Delta Jack for now.

Nice! I managed to grab a red burlap and a red micarta and they will be Christmas gifts to myself, lol.
I don't have a wife, so I probably get a few more knives than some fellas, haha.
I remember my first Northwoods, a Forest Jack with crazy awesome jigged bone, purchased at leisure. Many in mammoth were left and I kick myself frequently for not ponying up for one when I had the chance.

In 2015 the Michigan Jacks were up for weeks. I think the demand is what has gone up... supply is the same. I bought a Camel bone, and still love it.

I had a green micarta in my cart and ended up passing on it because it wasn't something that I was really in love with. For those of you that scored the one you wanted congrats!!!! For those that missed out, hope you can grab one on the secondary market!

I think the blue camel bone was definetly the big hit
I think with the recent offering of the Burlap Lincoln Jack sticking around for a little longer than usual, maybe it seemed that demand for Northwoods was going to take a breather. But, I guess not.
The Green Burlap appears to have been the hit of this run.[/QUOTE

My goal when I'm selling n BF is to only do a mark-up enough to cover any overhead of shipping, etc. If I don't like the knife then it is time to pass it on to someone that will actually appreciate it. That is exactly why I don't sell on the bay.

Ok... back to the regular Northwoods discussion :)

I have no idea if I'll like it, or not be able to handle the pull. Never owned a Northwoods before. If I don't like it, I'll pass it along at my break even point.

I got both red and green burlaps. Went for red first, really looks stellar. Now it'll be tough deciding which to use first. ;)

Surprised there wasn't a denim, seems to be a great hit with the NW releases an collectors?

Blue bone didn't do it for me, although there were some unique offerings.. I like the rustic user look myself, saves me some duckets as well so that's good.

I'm excited, if it remotely close(er) to a Fremont! Wasn't huge on the lincoln/bear/Hawthorne. Really would still like to see another release with either a EO or ffg!! Besides this one, hopefully, the little bays still one of my favorites for the year without a doubt.

As Colonel Sanders said when asked why the chicken crossed the road, "I missed some?"
I might have.

Probably cuz you didn't know they made a fried chicken sandwich with fried chicken for the "bun". Change your mind yet, or did that cement your stance?
Haa ha ha. Hey man discuss the Northwoods or you will be fried!!!! Ha ha. Camel bone in this run?

It isn't sarcasm. There may have been other posts which should have been moved that I missed. Some posts were a blend of saying that the poster bought a knife, but which also talked about the selling process. I made judgement calls.

I was torn between the two burlaps, but chose a red one.

So what is up with the new pocket slip pictured with the Delta Jack? Will it be better for carry than the slip normally accompanying the Northwoods?

I didn't notice that! I kind of like the new ones, not sure if they will be good to actually carry as maybe a little thick. Already have plenty of the other kind though.. Looking forward to it, I have a black Delta Jack on the way.

Hey guys, I've moved a few more posts over to the thread that Frank started last night,https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/trying-to-buy-the-latest-northwoods.1536127/. I'm going to watch this thread and when I see more Off Topic posts that's where they will be.

Thank you for letting us know in a friendly way. I cannot speak for anyone but myself, but I will say that I greatly appreciate it.

I am happy to have gotten what I did.

I love the #35 frame and couldn’t be more pleased with the blade shape.

Holy smokes. I somehow missed the whole coming and going of these. I guess I'm glad about that.
