Beautiful. I love the jigging and the spear blade looks awesome to me. (but i'm not a clip point fan)Got my delivery today. Very pleased. Nice solid lockup and walk & talk. The jigging is excellent although a bit "sharp." Kinda like that though. I love the color. Really wish it was a clip point but I do like spear points. That'a a good lookin' knife, Wil.
Charlie Campagna displayed these knives at the GEC Rendezvous this past August. These were built by Queen back in the 1920’s. These are the inspiration for the saber grind blades and fancy Northwoods font on the current KSF Northwoods knives.

I bought 3 little bays. And opted to pass on the Harrison bay all together...I have a question, what do you guys like better? A Northwoods Little Bay with original clip point, or the Harrison bay with spear? I love the shape of Harrison so much-I would love one with a clip point. Harrison Clip!
They did a really good job on jigging in these Harrison Bays. I was glad to see the return of a blood red jigged bone.View attachment 1004780 View attachment 1004781
I think there wees 2-blade Madison Barlows. Those were GEC-made right? To be honest, that is one of the first Northwoods to kind of catch my fancy. The red Jigged Bone is spectacular and overall, it is a rather attractive knife. I do like the images of the old Queen blades that you posted, it is certainly nice to see the comparison and inspiration.
All that said though, it is still a single blade 14 and I do know that it wouldn't get the same attention that my other knives bring. So I passed ...
Brings me to an interesting question though. Has GEC ever produced a 2 blade Northwoods? I think I've seen some Queen made ones but I could be quite mistaken.
The Madison Barlows came in single and two blade versions. The Norfolk, Williamette Whittler, and the Presidential have two blades, one on each opposite end. The Norfolk Whittler has three blades. There may be others.Brings me to an interesting question though. Has GEC ever produced a 2 blade Northwoods? I think I've seen some Queen made ones but I could be quite mistaken.

The red bone is the only reason I bought one. I've soured on the routine choice of 3 micartas and the rush associated with choose your own bone which often made me frustrated from having to find one I liked and race to the check out before someone else paid for the knife. Thanks, fellas. I wasn't sure if Northwoods was meant to cater strictly to those who have a preference for single blade knives. I do recognize that this preference likely is embraced by the majority of users but I dont know if that plays a significant role in their design choices.
The Harrison Bay (particularly in that red bone) comes very close to what would motivate me to be more interested in Northwoods. This one is just a tad on the small side though. If they continue to offer covers like this on some of their future offerings, I may find myself becoming a believer after all.
