Let's talk traditional, pocketable, fixed blade knives.

Here is my new L.T.Wright Patriot with the KSF Pocono Pocket Sheath.

I guess California has been excommunicated from the US. Here, all fixed blades are verboten for concealed carry, regardless of blade length. As there is no pre-emption clause for knives, counties and cities are able to come up with more restrictions.

Whoops! I assumed Boston was as bad as it gets, but it seems not. I guess I meant it would meet any city's blade length restrictions, but there may be an exception out there.

There is an exception: you can wear it on your belt. It is legal in California to carry a fixed blade as long as it is not concealed. I think the length limit is a 6" blade.

I meant that there may be an exception to the 2.5" blade is legal in any city statement that I made.

Open carry is legal state-wide, but the quote I was responding to was for pocket carry. There is no state law regarding blade length whatsoever. Cities and counties are free to set their own limits, though.

This one came in a few days ago and all I can say is WOW. Matt knows how to make a knife.

Are these "Lime Cutters" made by nighthaxan here on the forum? If so, does he take orders, or do you have to just wait until one pops up that you want.

I have been carrying the Lime Cutter ( medium size 2 1/2 in blade) past few days and its size is comfortable for front knife carry. Charles makes larger bladed Lime cutters too. He is a registered knifemaker at BF also.

Here's a picture of the Lime cutter next to #15 GEC Ancient for a size comparison.
It's a nice small EDC fb and my first. LT Wright Patriot looks like a nice usable knife also.
would be great if someone could post a picture of a L.T. Wright Patriot along with a LC

The Lime cutter not only cuts limes but works well in other kitchen duties.

A hard working pair. A GEC 72 and a small fixed blade. Was forged by a forum member and I reground the profile and bevels to better suit my preferences.

Y'all's lime cutters look really cool, in size, proportion, and accoutrement.

I especially love the juxtaposition of the forged edge with the finished blade area.

... When did a "lime cutter" become a Thing?

As in, have there historically been knives designated for this crucial, targeted task, and offered by other makers, or is this simply a new twist (heh) on a bar implement(?) now being Named and produced by a single maker?

Whatever the answer, I'm enjoying the array. :)

Wouldn't you know, I finally secured a long longed-for knife-- it's on its way to me now-- the supposed fixed-blade-Stopper, at a fixed-blade-Stopper price.

And already, I'm looking at Lime Cutters, way intrigued.

There will always be more, eh?
