Let's talk traditional, pocketable, fixed blade knives.

Bit of a work in progress, the blade still needs sanding and polishing, but getting there. A "Karhunkynsi" (Bear Claw) brand small puukko that I came across in market hall. The blade was left black and the handle had a strange mushroom shape pommel that I disliked. I shortened and re-shaped the handle and slightly and re-peened the shortened tang over the traditional brass cap, handle is made of bone and birch. Overall lenght is 160 mm, blade lenght 62 mm. The blade is a "Lauri" brand carbon steel blade, many Finnish cutlers use these blades as their quality is good.

My BRKT Little Creek is a rock!!!

I've really been considering the Little Creek in a KSF dual type pocket sheath. Maybe with the SAK Farmer in the second pouch or a small light. The intent is to carry the LC for EDC as in Everyday, all the time, with the Farmer as a full, handle pretty much anything package.

Do you carry your Little Creek everyday? In which sheath, belt or pocket?

@Amos Iron Wolf
Not everyday, but camping or excursions in stock sheath. Right front pocket. I EDC a Tops Knives MSK 2.5.

Here's a few of mine. First up is a small one-off custom by Mark Wohlwend.

Nice Micro-Slither. :thumbup: What's that handle material?

The 'Mini Canadian' is a workhorse for it's size, and very pocketable. It's the small fixed blade I carry the most, by far:

Thank you! Not actually sure, some manner of burl. It was originally in Jade coloured burl but the handle was full of holes which really annoyed me on such a small knife. I opted to 'send it in' hearing a lot of noise about great warranty etc. Not my experience I'm afraid, I was derided for being insolent enough to question the wonderful finish of these knives kind of "if you must send it in then we'll fix it (nitpicker)" It took a long time and OK I live outside the US so I expect delays but....totally different handle material from the original, no explanation or apology for completely changing the material. They for some reason ground most of the gimping off the spine so it looks really ugly&irregular (also can't be resold now, nice) and they messed up the etching on the blade. Why they had to do all these things on a small fixed blade to change handle slabs I can only speculate...I have quite a few of their knives but would never send one back again because of this example.

This is going to be the last knife I will get for a long, long time. I got a Boker Beauty Steel pocket fixed blade. The knife lives up to it's name, it is jewel. I can absolutely find no flaws in it. The only thing I would change is the large "Böker" logo on the blade.

The handle is green linen micarta, steel is Böhler N690, a cobalt enriched stainless. This steel should have very good edge retention properties. Anyway this is a "modern traditional" pocket sized gentleman's fixed blade, not a heavy use knife. In my opinion the proportions of the knife are spot on and the style elegant. Ergonomics are good, the handle could be just a tad longer but that would ruin the proportions. Anyway I can get a four finger grip. The blade has an edge like a scalpel, literally shawing sharp out of box.

I first thought that the bolsters were integral, one piece with the blade but they are not. I took off the lanyard, I am going to replace it with a smaller one. There was nothing really wrong with it, it was just a bit large to my taste. The sheath is a well made, sturdy pocket sheath with a stylish tree logo. The sheath has also a small pocket clip.

So this was money well spent. This will be my "sunday" pocket fixed blade. :) The overall lenght is 150 mm, blade is 70 mm, cutting edge is 65 mm.
