Let's talk traditional, pocketable, fixed blade knives.

^ that's a useful looking knife. Like a bird and trout. I'd love to see the picket clip.

Looks like a copy of one of the small loveless. Stiff horn or city knife? Anybody else see that?

Actually, the Boker Beauty is a design by German knife maker Patrick Teyke.

Here is the damascus version

Closer to a City Knife, but not close enough to constitute a copy. I had a couple from Mike Lovett that were near identical. Bob gave him his blessing to make them. Sadly Mike is no longer making knives.

I've always wanted a Lovett version, but never had the $$ when I had the opportunity. Think it's "traditional"?

I agree brownshoe. I had a Lovett city knife but foolishly let it get away from me. It's too bad that Mike is no longer making knives.

I can't think of any Loveless designs that I wouldn't consider traditional.

In the colder months, I wear a sweater and carry all sorts of useful or potentially useful stuff on my belt. In the warmer months, I have to rely on my pockets.

I always carry an ESEE-3 but, while it can be done in a pinch, a normal front pocket is just too small. So, I almost always wear carpenter's pants with a thigh pocket that is PERFECT! I highly recommend them...

Here's a tiny knife I just made up for a fire starting kit, Lauri blade mounted on a big brow tyne.

Best regards

I'm currently carrying a 7.5" OAL Boker Arbolito with stag scales in a Glacier Bay pocket sheath in my jeans. It rides well. If I could remember where I put my Shadow Knives Model IX after I got it out to do a polished edge on that's the one I'll most likely EDC though. The pommel of the Boker peaks out of some of my jeans pockets just a little sometimes. Not really sticking out. More of a glimpse of curved stag and steel.

I've learned to catch the pocket sheath under my index finger and draw it slightly out before releasing and pulling the knife on out. That way unless I'm moving a bunch the sheath top stays high and resheathing is simpler. Then just a shove back into the pocket. If it slides down into the pocket again it's no problem though. The knife is long enough I can get the tip of the blade into the sheather and guide it on in enough before I'm trying to seat the grip area. Really short knives, especially if they are really slender or skeletonized grips generally require removing the sheath to get the knife back in.

Now if I can just find that darned knife!

My thoughts on a small production fixed blade for pocket carry is the Schrade "Little finger" and the Case "Desk knife". But, I generally prefer a good folder for pocket carry.

I just came across this thread today. I've been searching for a decent small fixed blade for EDC. IN MY SEARCH FOR A "budget" blade ( new baby=low funds) I've decided to build my own from an Old Hickory 7inch butcher knife. I'm still waiting for the donor blade to come in but I've come up with a design I think will make me happy. I hope you don't mind but the endura in the picture is only for a size reference

I carry my bravo necker 2 in 3v. It's a little cut demon for my weekend carry. My job isn't exactly welcoming to fixed blades. I do enjoy it on my days off though. The 3v is a wonderful steel for my purposes and the burlap handles make me smile. It's a highly capable blade and disappears until you need it. Also, it bit me right away as most memorable blades do.
