Let's talk Zero Tolerance.

The 0566 actually carries quite comfortably as well. The 0770CF is the thinnest knife ZT makes at about 13/32". The 0566 is maybe a hair thicker, and the 0770 (aluminum handled version) is about 14/32". The 710 is about the same thickness as a ZT 0350 (about 15/32").

Awesome pictures!! It looks like the 0566 is actually a hair thinner than the 0770cf.

Just got my first zt. Very pleased.

Ive had many ZTs. They are quality blades, but I dont think the are worth their price. For the price of two, I say get a Chris Reeve Sebenza 25 and dont ever look back. The ZTs seem to be just too dang big for me. I must say that I still am thinking of getting one of the ZT emerson collaborations though.

The 801, 770, and 566 aren't too big. In fact, they all have shorter blades than the 25. Plus they have flippers :)

I agree with you on the size. I love the knives, but they have a large carry profile, and they can get very heavy. The Sebenza is very compact...even the large size, and that's one of the best features of the Seb given carrying something large can be annoying after while. ZT's tend to be larger in terms of the distance from the top of the blade to the other side of the handle.

However, I think they are completely worth the money. While not sporting the fit and finish of the Seb, most of them are as-hard or harder-use knives and pretty reasonably priced relative to what you get. Relative to other knives in that price class, they are using steels and handle materials that are second-to-none. I also think many of the ZT's have a more usable blade than the Sebenza in regards to certain heavy usage in which edge strength is a must-have, and I like how KAI treats S35VN more than CRK personally. With the 0770 and 0566, there's a ton of knife for the money. The Sebenza is more refined and for someone who likes the compact carry profile, has a huge advantage as an EDC.

I've been hoping for years ZT will make a folder with a form-factor like the Sebenza. Years ago, Kershaw made the Starkey Ridge 1410 and I think they achieved a quality folder that I would put on par with the Seb, so this is a capability that KAI has...

From what I can gather, the 0770 is a smaller version of a bigger model that ZT sells. I'm curious, what does a new 0770 go for? I cant find it anywhere except on ebay for $144.00. Does that sound right?

I EDC'd my ZT 550 a long time, and it kicked everything else out of my pocket until I just stopped loving it out of the blue. I was initially concerned with the bulkiness, weight, and overall size, but it carries amazingly. It feels like a much smaller knife than it is. If it fits into your pockets and you like a sturdy knife, the 550 is a superb choice.

If you want something that carries better, the 801 is awesome. It is a little less bulky in pocket, and has the sweet KVT bearing system. I had to dial in the lock bar tension for the detent, but now that it is perfect I EDC this knife pretty frequently. It flips amazingly, and the blade profile is a superb EDC blade. It would be pretty hard for me to be happier with the blade unless I found money wedged into it.

ZT knives are excellent. Their CS takes care of every problem, and the knives are pretty low maintenance by design. I really love ZT.

I only have one sebenza, they are quality blades, but I dont think the are worth their price.. A bit over rated really. For the price of one, I say get two ZTs and dont ever look back. The sebenza is just not big enough for me. CRK aren't for everyone... A lot of people on this forum talk them up like no other.

You can please some of the people all of the time and you can please all of the people some of the time. But you can't please all of the people all of the time. :)

0770CF is the thinnest ZT.

Here's a partial specs comparison of the 0770CF with the other ZT with blade lengths of 3.25":

Thanks again, flarp. I just sent him a message through BladeForums. Now I'm wondering if I'm even able to do that yet. I didn't see anything saying I couldn't. I'm going to his site now and contacting him through there as well if I can. Thanks again.

Update to say I succesfuly contacted him through his site. Now I'll just hurry up and wait.

only zt i have is 0550. great piece of folder. but it's little too heavy and little to bulky for my taste. also too much of a knife for what i need a knife for. i still carry it now and then, but on mos days it's skyline that's in my pocket.

I have the ZT0350, 0350 serrated, the 0301, the 0300 blackwash and the 0550. The 550 beng the latest addition to my collection. I'm very happy with the fit and finish of all of them but find myself never carrying the 350s. Something about them doesn't feel right.

I'm temted to get a 0560 or 0801 but I'm hesitant because there's so many reports of ZT's Elmax performance being somewhat suspect. There's vids on youtube of guys dulling their blade going from shaving sharp to complete dull edges in a matter of minutes just cutting some cardboard and carpet.

I've owned over a dozen (NIB direct from dealer) ZT's and have yet to be disappointed with their quality and F&F. All had solid lockup, centered, non were sticky, all the details- just no issues... Really quite remarkable, over a dozen is a big enough sample size for me. Call me lucky but that's been my experience with them.

Yep. I'm not sure what the deal is on the "wonky" (to use someone's else's description) carbon fiber scale on my 0770CF. But I am confident that ZT will make it right. One way or the other, I'll find out soon enough.

I've had an 0550, 0560 and an 0566. Had to sell 'em due to financial troubles but the one I'll never part with is my 0551.

It really does carry well for such a hefty knife, and no other knife I own feels as good in-hand. ZT just makes quality blades.
