Let's talk Zero Tolerance.

I have the ZT0350, 0350 serrated, the 0301, the 0300 blackwash and the 0550. The 550 beng the latest addition to my collection. I'm very happy with the fit and finish of all of them but find myself never carrying the 350s. Something about them doesn't feel right.

I'm temted to get a 0560 or 0801 but I'm hesitant because there's so many reports of ZT's Elmax performance being somewhat suspect. There's vids on youtube of guys dulling their blade going from shaving sharp to complete dull edges in a matter of minutes just cutting some cardboard and carpet.

I've got a zt566 with elmax and it holds a good edge a long time, they had some issues with the first ones supposedly but I haven't had any problems with their elmax.

I've had my share of KAI Kershaw's from Japan to USA (not a fan of China; but hey that's just me). I've suddenly become a Benchmade junky but I'm considering branching out and getting a ZT or two. Here are my questions:

I like a lean knife. Side to side I prefer a thinner knife. The Benchmade 710 is my preferred EDC right now due to it's a thinner carry than any other larger folder I've had. I can't seem to find specs on how thick the ZT's are.

I have hardly any experience with a frame lock. What type of longevity can I expect out of ZT's frame locks?

I own ZT 0550BW, 0550 and 0566. I have handled the 0770, 0770CF. I love 0550BW and 0550 the most, but if you prefer thinner for EDC then they are not for you. I recommend 0566 for you, but keep in mind it is heavier than it looks, due to use of steel instead of titanium.

I own only one ZT. Zt 0350BW. I love it. Had a few issues, but so far the Customer service has been very helpful and fast to respond. Also I absolutely love the blackwash. Its a beautiful blade! uploadfromtaptalk1399965443528.jpguploadfromtaptalk1399965466252.jpg

I have to say I am very pleased with my ZT0566 and 0770cf.
Great knives with a good price quality ratio imo.

I own an 0550, and briefly owned an 0770 aluminum. Traded that in on the 0550 as it's going to be a work knife. I don't mind the weight/bulk of it at all, great ergos and a rock solid lock, and S35VN takes a ridiculous edge. I've had a number of Kershaws prior (Mini Cyclone, Leek, JYD/JYDII, two Shallots, Needs Work, Boot Knife, Ripcord, umm... a few kershaws, lol) - the ZT is like a Kershaw on steroids, same great F&F and blade geometry but much heavier duty and rock solid feeling.

Love my BM's too - a Mini Grip thumb hole, and a full size DejaVoo which I never carry. But to me, KAI/Kershaw/ZT's pricing is so much more reasonable that i'd rather buy a high-end ZT than a mid-range BM for the same price.

Whoa whoa whoa...you work for Victorinox?

Yes. I am assistant Manager in a store in The Netherlands. I am quite often in the factory in Switzerland for management meetings. It was a dream for me working for Victorinox when I was young. And now my dream came true.
I've even had a few conversations with Mr. elsener and he knows me personally now.
I think it is a great company working for with great products and human valeus.

Not rich, so I bought a ZT 0350OR on sale. Heavy, short and thick but great fit and finish and I'm enjoying it as an American made piece. Sure I'd like some of their slimmer offerings but I doubt I'll ever see one under $100 NIB like this one was shipped. Quality materials, sharp out of the box and great S30v steel.

Yep. I'm not sure what the deal is on the "wonky" (to use someone's else's description) carbon fiber scale on my 0770CF. But I am confident that ZT will make it right. One way or the other, I'll find out soon enough.
My 0770CF is back and it's perfect. The serial number on the blade didn't change, so it appears they replaced the defective scale. The turnaround time was excellent. So kudos to ZT's service. If ZT keeps making blades in the same class as the 0770CF, I'll keep buying them. :D

Glad to hear they took care of you. The 0770cf is one of the best looking knives I've seen in a long time and I suppose I'll end up getting one someday. I'm hoping after I get my 0801 back after getting some customizing done, I won't have the desire to buy it......but I doubt it.

I can say zt is top notch product and warranty best in the industry in my opinion . Issues are handled with no hesitation. Unlike many top knife company's who say "You did this voided warranty "
